Women are much vulnerable to the danger of becoming victims of criminal attacks. Women have always been considered as the weaker sex and many end up believing themselves just that. Hence they end up as victims to not only minor crimes like snatching or theft, but life threatening ones like rape and abduction. But that does not mean women cannot go out of the houses! Particularly these days, women have to travel quite frequently for business purposes. So, you should know certain tricks to avoid any unwanted situation in an unknown place.
- If you need to travel quite often, then it will be better if you go through some training sessions on self defense techniques. Techniques like judo, karate etc is quite useful to protect yourself from unwanted incidents.
- Select a reputed hotel to stay during your trip to a new destination. These reputed hotels might be more expensive but they can ensure your safety and security. The cheaper hotels can save your money, but you may lose something more valuable than money by staying in those unsafe places.
- If you plan to do a sight seeing, then select a recommended tour operator to take you to those places of interest. A guided tour will be much enjoyable, as you do not have to worry about your safety.
- It is better to stay inside the hotel after sunset. In case you want to go out, then you should take guidance from the hotel reception.
- You should take off all your expensive jewelries while leaving your home. Instead, you may use inexpensive imitation jewelries, if you have to wear something.
- Do not carry a big amount of cash along with you. Instead use credit cards and debit cards, to draw cash whenever you require.
- While in a bar or pub, don’t take drinks from strangers. Many times, the drinks may be spiked. If you are new to that place, make sure your family knows where you are staying and ask them to call you if they don’t hear from you within a stipulated time.
- Carry a pepper spray or any other safety device, which is pretty simple to use and is much effective to ward off the criminals.
