If you'd like to spend more of your time selling and less of your time doing cold calling, then this article will be of interest to you.

I'll never forget a Christmas and Thanksgiving when I had to go out making cold calls to keep my super demanding sales manager from going ballistic on me. The weird thing is, there WERE people home and I did get in doors.

However, I knew nothing about sales letter cold call systems back then. What I've learned since is that instead of making cold calls yourself, you can have letters do it for you.

The idea is to take the exact same spiel or pitch you give people when you make your cold calls and put that in a letter. Then you send that cold call sales letter to the same prospects you'd normally contact.

It makes perfect sense and it actually does work.

What you do is type up your letter exactly the way you'd say it. Then you print it on a personalized letter using Word and mail it in an envelope with an address printed directly on the envelope.

Appearance is extremely important.

    Hi, Marlon here. What's the truth about all those product launches? The truth is the reason big name marketers do them is because people BUY when they see all the social proof. Actually, it's a little jacked up. You could send a sales letter out to your list. And they wouldn't buy. But if 3 or more other big name marketers promote your product, THEN they'll buy it. It's totally illogical. But how social proof driven our market is. The basis of social proof is illogical. More people endorsing, saying or promoting something does NOT make it more valid. But I think it's the book The Red Queen that points out how we are hard wired for survival based on things that happened thousands of years ago. And one of those is the TRIBE. And if you went AGAINST the tribe, you would die. This is like hard wired into our brains. Crazy stuff. Crazy that my own customers may not buy from me unless I do reciprocal deals to get some other friends to email the offer so my own customers will see the validity in it! Of course, there ARE ways to get out of this TRAP. And a trap it is. But that would be another post. For now, gather and use ANY and every form of social proof you can. It simply works. Right or not.
