Salvador Dali Surrealism In His Art

May 11th in the year 1904, Salvador Dali was born in a town called Figueras in Spain.

Dali became very famous and well known for his earlier surrealist work and back in this time he used to bring on these almost hallucinagenic states that he believed brought some creative response to his work in which it did and therefore this earlier work still to this day remains his most well known.

Salvador Dali is regarded as one of the most influential surrealists of the past century, his work sometimes abstract, but most times hidden meanings of his art remained quite a mystery in his work as he often he would paint in hallucingenic states that would help him create the desired paintings that he wanted.

His work was often regarded well with art critics although his eccentric behaviour might have turned some people off, but it seemed to draw in more public attention o the renowned spanish artist, he became quite adept at diversifications of art such as sculpture, film television and photography.

There is a great Wikipedia Page on Salvador Dali Here - Salvador Dali Wikipedia

It's great to see artists that you particular never really heard of until recently and some of his fantasy art is quite good too.

Daliphoto.com is a place were Dalis eccentric looking portraits have been archived.

Hey waynet,

Salvador Dali is my all time favorite artist. It is because of seeing his work I started painting myself. I was doing comic book art and I still do, but I do comic book character paintings. I also do surreal art. I like this Hub. Good luck on making 100 Hubs in 30 days.

I like Dalis work too, especially his sculptures that he used to do based on some of his paintings.

Cheers artguy - 95 hubpages to go!!

Cheers there Nancy! I like all types of art, any that inspires and eccentrics just make me giggle and it just goes to show that there must be a bit of genius behind the madness, which gives a little hope for me lol!
