And so it came that I decided to run my own business. With no previous business experience, yet armed with the optimism to succeed, I finally came to the decision of running my own business.

I knew what I wanted to sell. I knew what was required to make them, as well as just how much their raw materials would cost. I knew that I would have to advertise, in order for my product, my business, to get attention. I knew I would need to hire people, as well as make arrangements with where or how I would market my wares.

I've always prided myself as an "idea man", and already thought about all the ingredients to make my plans successfully operate. Yet, even with all my thinking, assuming and conjecturing, I found putting all the abovementioned elements into paper difficult. I found setting up a real business plan to be too daunting a task.

This is when I realized that looking into a sample business plan was the solution to my problem.

As copying someone else's work is among the most frowned upon acts in the world, I veered away from looking into a sample business plans at first, though a number of companies offered such items as part of their roster of services. I've pretty much gone though life independently, and I felt that looking into a sample business plan would've compromised that independence.

But, as how things went, I realized that I had to come to terms. I had no real business experience, and if I went on with my business with my stubborn ways, I'd just end up wasting a lot of money. Playing things by ear is one thing, but when it comes to something like a business, one just can't be foolish.

So, ignoring my sentiments, I took a look at sample business plans. I left no detail unseen. Absorbed by how strategic, how practical and how organized they were constructed, I then saw flaws in my original business plan outline, and was thankful that I did consult the sample business plans before putting my own up, before getting my business into action.

It has been six months since then, and my business is going quite steady. The company where I got the sample business plans from did me right in providing me with a detailed sample business plan, one which was actually applied by a business. The company even offered their extended services, offering to author my business plan. But seeing the sample business plan in itself, already told me enough of what I should do in putting down my business plan.
