The cheap Internet phone

"A good mobile phone is a useful mobile phone" I always say that. What are those features for if the phone can't get even get a good signal, can't receive or send different types of messages... useless. It doesn't matter if the phone has super features or excellent quality sound, it all goes down to usability. After all, we need these for communication. Thankfully, here are now many new phones that are focused in usability and one of them is the Samsung X820.

The Samsung X820 is a super slim mobile phone, it has a classic look in solid bar design. The phone has a 113 x 50 x 6.9 mm overall size, it's a solid slider phone and the depth of the sides are shaped in trapezoid making it more easy to hold. The cover has gradient color theme which makes the phone look attractive. Because of its slim size and light weight, the phone is very easy to hold and keep in your pocket. It also feels a bit fragile as it's too light, but you'll get used to it fast. It doesn't quite look good in these pictures, but when you see it in actual, you'll see that it's an attractive phone that perfectly fits your jean's back pocket, just don't forget to pull it out when you sit though.

The phone has a good sized screen, it's 220 x 176 pixels. The screen is very nice, displays images very well. The user-interface is very user-friendly, you can easily navigate the menu as it's very responsive. Below the screen is its ergonomic keypads. The keypads are excellent and it is easy to txt or dial with it. However for some, they will need some time to get used to it. They are well placed and looks sturdy making it easy to get along with it.

For a low costing phone, it actually has a good camera feature. It's got a 2 Megapixel Camera with only a Digital Zoom. Although the megapixel is just average, it does need more power from zooming features. Be warned, it doesn't have a Flash. It does have Photo Effects to enhance those pictures you took. The phone can also record Video clips and it's got a nice video player for you to preview them.

Calling and messaging capabilities of the X820 is nice. It has a Tri Band frequency allowing good signals with-in network coverage but isn't so good in between countries. These are GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 frequencies. Unfortunately it's a non-3G phone, so Video Calling featureis out of the topic. Messaging is also good in this phone, it has the basic SMS (Text Messaging), MMS (Multimedia Messaging) and even EMS (Enhanced Messaging) support. You can also send Email with this phone. Very handy indeed.

When bored, the Samsung X820 can keep you entertained. Nothing like those music focused phones however, but just enough to keep you company. The music player plays pretty loud but a little tinny. It's quite a shame that it doesn't have an FM Radio, it does support quite a number of music types though. They are MP3, AAC and ACC+. The phone supports MP3 Ringtones so prepare those catchy sounds and install them on this phone. The Samsung X820 can only store 80 Mbytes Memory but sadly doesn't have any memory card support.

Although it doesn't look like it, it's actually an Internet savvy phone. Its connectivity is powered by fast technologies such as GPRS and even the fast EDGE technology. This technology allows you to have a very fast data rate transfer allowing you to have smooth and fast Internet connection. It has Bluetooth and USB support for convenient file transfers. This also makes the X820 compatible to USB and Bluetooth add-on devices such as Bluetooth Headsets. You can browse the net using its pre-installed WAP 2.0 browser.

Over all the Samsung X820 is a nice phone to buy. It has quite a good Internet connectivity capability and a pretty good camera. It looks good and useful too. The phone can stay as long as 2.5 hrs talk time or 210 hrs standby. Some say that the battery easily dies off, I don't know about that, it actually lasts longer for me. Anyway, if you're interested in getting this phone it's best that you go buy it online. It's got the best free line rental deals, depending on what deal you choose, you can get the Samsung X820 with a free PS3 along with this phone too.
