Cheaper alternative for a Smartphone

Almost every month there's a new mobile release, increasing in advancement, taking a new step in mobile phone technology. New features. New design. These phone are awesome when it comes to features and design, but usability and practicality? I don't think so.

New releases always have questionable usability, developers are focused to bring new technologies gagged up and compressed inside a new designed mobile phone. Although this happens doesn't happen all the time, this happens most of the time in highly featured phone. So the question is, is it worth the money? They are all high priced until a some period in time, but as long as they are newly released, they will have high price.

Most of us are who have more bills to pay and tight on budget can't afford these "feature phones". What we want is just a phone with good calling and messaging capabilities and maybe have a little multimedia and camera capability. But what's really important is it's efficiency when calling or texting, convenience through easy menus and navigations, and powerful battery. I think this best describes the Samung E590. It's practical and looks nice. It packs good features even though it's small. It's just enough for a budget wise person. It is also much better to consider getting the Samsung E590 with a free gift instead of buying it on high streets. Online deals are much more affordable and has the best deals a mobile phone can have, you might even get the Samsung E590 for free and with a free Sony PS3 as a gift! Anyway, let's see what the E590 can do for us.

The Samsung E590 has an simple yet sleek look. It looks simple but certainly doesn't look cheap, it is small in 94 x 42 x 13.5 mm size, this makes the phone really easy to hold or keep. The phone has a light casing only weighing 66 grams, it's really that light so you better be careful or you might forget that you're carrying a mobile phone! The design pretty straight forward, much like that of the Nokia Classics.

The phone has a bright screen, a 1.8 inch TFT 262k color screen 220 x 220 pixels resolution. The screen displays clear and colorful pictures, perfect for a sleek mobile phone. Videos are really clear to see. You can see awesome color manipulations as you browse through the menus. This just shows how detailed and powerful the Samsung E590 screen is.

When it comes to sending and receiving messages, you can rely on Samsung E590. The keypads are easy to press because they are embossed and quite bulgy so you can really feel the buttons. They are ergonomic and looks pretty cool. The user interface look might attractive and the menus are easy to navigate. You won't have much problems getting used with the phone. The E590 can receive and send SMS (Text Messaging), MMS (Multimedia Messaging) and EMS (Enhanced Messaging). It also has Predictive Text to help you send messages fast when you really need it. You can also send and receive Emails.

You can't really judge a book by it's cover as this is also applicable to mobile phones. I'm not saying that the Samsung E590 is an ugly phone, it's just that it has a lot to offer aside from looking small and being light. The 3 megapixel camera on the Samsung E590 is something compared to most of today's latest phone cameras. Its got a Digital Zoom but doesn't have a Flash, quite a let down. Well to put it simply, the Samsung E590 isn't a camera focused mobile phone, although it's quite slow it takes photos well in full color and details. It's got Photo Settings, Photo Quality Settings and Brightness Settings, this can change your picture output and may improve the picture's quality. It also has a Shot Mode which has multi Shot, Self Shot and Timer, pretty much common options on a mobile phone. You can also record video clips so you can relive those beautiful moments.

The Samsung E590 is also good in Internet and network connectivity. It has EDGE and GPRS technologies which is today's top technologies that allows high speed data transfers. With and average download speeds of 70-135 kilobits per second on EDGE connectivity, you can really breeze through the net. Open its built-in browser, WAP 2.0 Browser, to easily access the Internet. The phone is in Tri Band, utilizing 3 frequencies. These are GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900, this makes the E590 a good phone to have even if you're moving between countries. The E590 is a non-3G phone, so Video Calls are out of the picture. But even without that, the Samsung E590 is an excellent alternative to a Smartphone.

The Samsung E590 isn't a music focused mobile phone but it's got enough to keep you from being bored. The phone has a generic music player which outputs a good enough sound quality. It has a 90MB memory capacity and you can also expand it further as it has MicroSD memory card support. The phone has an FM Radio, this isn't much of a ground breaking feature but it's enough to make a music lover's ears happy. The phone has a typical video player if ever you want to entertain yourself other than the music player. It also has Embedded Games pre-installed if you want interactive entertainment. The phone can hold out to an average time of 4 hours talk time or 300 hours of standby.

The Samsung E590 is an excellent phone that fits almost any user, even for busy users! It has Document Viewer to let you view those important files even though you're not in your office. It also has Mobile Printing, Call Management and a Speaker Phone, these are features that a busy user needs. An excellent phone, a good value for money.
