Quail Botanical Gardens

Quail Botanical Gardens, located just north of san Diego in Encinitas, offers a beautiful and fun outing for kids and adults alike. The Botanical Gardens is absolutely gorgeous and is organized by regional and other themes including: Mediterranean Garden, Canary Islands Garden, New World Desert Garden, Bamboo Garden, Mexican Garden, New Zealand Garden, and more!

Walking paths connect these areas and the plants and trees are labeled to provide plant name, regional origin and other interesting facts. The garden boasts the nations largest bamboo collection.

Seeds of Wonder Children's Garden

The park, covering approxiamtely 35 acres, is divided into two areas, a large botanical garden and a smaller, fun-filled childrens' area called the "Seeds of Wonder Childrens Garden"

Kids can "go fishing" to catch plastic toys and there is also a pump kids can use to make water flow from the top to the bottom bin.

Tips for a Great Trip with Kids

Pack your own lunch and snacks, as food options are limited
Bring an extra set of clothes for the kiddos - they are likely to get wet in the fountains and fishing pond!
As always in San Diego: sunscreen, sunscreen, suncreen & HAT!
The 1st Tuesday of every month is free admission! You only have to pay $1 for parking.

Outdoor Daytime and Sunset Weddings at Quail Botanical Gardens

The beautiful grounds of Quail Gardens makes it a lovely place for weddings. Three locations at the garden can accomodate anywhere from 20-200 guests. Daytime weddings are offered all year long and sunset weddings are available from April through October.
