59Your Guide to Where to Go and What to Do
If you are planning a trip to the San Francisco Bay Area for the 2008 Labor Day Weekend and need ideas for things to do, then you've come to the right place! San Francisco is going to be BUSY - and hopefully this guide will give you some headway on creating an itinerary so you won't get lost in the crowds of people.
Slow Food Nation
August 29 - September 1, San Francisco
Slow Food Nation is a celebration of food and Mother Earth. Attendees will be able to meet and greet farmers and producers in order to learn national traditions in food and preservation of our agriculture, as well as watch films on healthy consumption. The itinerary for this festival includes chef demonstrations, an urban farm, a conference on the values of food, food tastings, and much more. This event is expecting thousands of people in two venues - The Fort Mason Center will host the two-day Slow Food Rocks music festival and The Civic Center host the conferences and most demonstrations. The greater majority of this event will be FREE to the public, but specific events will require a ticket to enter, which range from $10 - $100. To find out what events will be held over the course of the weekend, check out slowfoodnation.org.
