San Francisco Chaper Hells Angel Leader gunned Down
63On September 2, just outside a bar in the Mission District of San Francisco, Mark "Papa" Guardado, the San Francisco Chapter Hells Angel leader was gunned down.
Witnesses told police that Guardado wrestled with the gunman for a few before being shot. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.
At this time, no suspects have been arrested for the murder, although police believe it could have been a member of a rival motorcycle group, possibly from the Mongols Motorcycle Club. Gang task force units have been places around and near the location of the shooting, which happened about a mile from the Hells Angel clubhouse were Guardado lived, is case of more disruption.
Funeral services for Guardado were arranged by the Hells Angels and took place on September 15 in Daily City. Over 2,000 Hells Angels from all over the country as well as other countries such as Australia and Germany attended the funeral. Police from Colma, San Francisco and Daily City were present in the hundreds to keep things in order.
Other Hells Angel members would not talk about the shooting or funeral and asked news reporters and photographers to leave.
Police commented that the funeral service could have possible been the largest motorcycle gathering and ride from Daily City to Cypress Lawn Cemetery, were Guardado was laid to rest, in history.
