When you begin your vacation on Cape Cod, Sandwich is one of the first towns that you enter. There are many affordable and well-located motels and bed & breakfasts in the town. Most motels are located on Route 6-A, which is a scenic highway that runs along the entire northside of Cape Cod. Most bed & breakfasts are located within the Historic Sandwich Town Center. Generally the Route 6A motels are more affordable than the bed & breakfasts. But there are off-season rates, which make the B&Bs more affordable. And with the B&B's you are within walking distance of many of the shops and historic buildings, as well as the Sandwich Town Beach.

Along Route 6A, you'll find the Shady Nook Motel, The Sandwich Lodge Motel, Country Acres Motel, the Earl of Sandwich Motel and the Spring Garden Inn, and the Sandy Neck Motel.

Sandwich is home to many Bed and Breakfast Inns. On Jarves Street, in Sandwich you'll find the Belfry Inne and Bistro housed in a former Catholic church and rectory.I even found on Sandwich bed and breakfast, Cranberry Manor, that is based on feng shui principles and they'll arrange yoga clases with a certified yoga instructor, if you ask! The stately 1750 Inn at Sandwich is a residence listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Aaron Burbank's Windfall House is a meticulously restored 1818 Colonial with a gracious ambience. The Isaiah Jones Homestead is a romantic Victorian Bed and Breakfast in the center of the Historic Town Center. The Annebelle Bed and Breakfast is luxuriously designed for today's sophisticated traveller.
There is also the large and expansive Daniel Webster Inn or Dan'l Webster Inn Located in the heart of the Historic Sandwich Village.

The 1750 Inn At Sandwich Center is located at 118 Tupper Road in Sandwich Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. The Inkeepers are Jan and Charlie Preus.

This Sandwich bed and breakfast inn is housed in an elegant Federal style residence that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You are just a short walk away from the Historic Sandwich Square, cafes and shops.

There are five guest rooms all with their own personality. The Miss Charlotte has golden hues with a Queen Bed and a fireplace. The Hallstead Room radiates soothing greens and with a Queen Bed a beautiful quilt. The Robert Morse Room is a calm cream with a King Bed and fireplace. The Lottie Chapman Room is a crisp white with a Queen Bed and fireplace. The Deacon's Room in soft cream has a Queen Bed and Deck.

Rates for 2009 vary with the season. January to May 31 $129 to $149; June 1 to October 31 $155 to $175; November 1 to December 31 $139 to $159. But things are subject to change so you should call to confirm availability and rates at 508-888-6958.

The Aaron Burbank's Windfall House is located at 108 Main Street, in the heart of the Historic Sandwich Village on Cape Cod.

It is a meticulously restored 1818 Colonial home and all the guest rooms are decorated with period pieces and fresh flowers. Staying at Aaron Burbank's Windfall is a gracious experience when you enjoy your candle light breakfast and afternoon tea.

The candlelight breakfast is offered daily from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. and includes a fresh baked muffin du jour, fruit juices, seasonal fresh fruit tray, and a full choice of egg dishes. Omelets are served with home fries prepared with herbs from their herb garden and a variety of pancakes is also available. All dishes are garnished with fresh fruit or flowers also from their gardens.

The guest rooms have either full or queen beds and private or shared bathrooms.

From November 1 to May 22 room rates range from $85 to $125. Other times the rates vary from $100 to $155. There may be changes and requirements so it's best to call and confirm rates and availability at 508-888-3650 with Innkeeper Ted Diggle.

The Annabelle Bed and Breakfast is located at 4 Grove Street in Sandwich, Massachusetts on Cape Cod - The heart of the Sandwich Historic Town Square.

If you have sophisticated tastes and love luxury, then the Annabelle Bed & Breakfast is a choice you should consider. There are six spacious suites - all meticulously decorated. Four have private baths with whirlpool tubs. Amenities include a truly gourmet breakfast, early riser's juice and coffee service, complimentary 6 pm Wine and Tea Service, fresh fruit and bottomless chocolate candy. Flat screen television, spa robes, hair dryers, magnifying mirrors in bathrooms, free wi-fi, cd/clock radio, central air conditioning, and iron and board.

The Belfry Inne and Bistro is located on Jarves Street in Sandwich, on Cape Cod. It is comprised of three buildings. The first, known now as the Abbey is a former Catholic church. It houses a fabulous restaurant and guest rooms. To its left is the Belfry Inne, which was the rectory assocated with the Catholic Church. It houses a cafe and bar along with guest rooms. To the right is the Village House which was a continues to be an upscale bed and breakfast. Taken together they comprise a beautiful collection of architecture and food!

The Abbey contains 6 guest rooms, and with a nod to biblical humor, they are named for the six days of the week - Monday thru Thursday.Tuesday is my favorite because of the huge stained glass window. Rooms seem to be in the $245 to $315 range. But as always things change. Give them a call at 1-800-844-4542 to check for availability and to confirm prices and charges.

The Painted Lady, as it's name implies speaks of elegant Victorian charm. There are 7 stately guest rooms and they range in price from $179 to $215. I've eaten in the Cafe on the lower level and enjoyed every mouthful.

The Village Inn has six guest rooms, and a wellness and spa center located in a separate building to the rear. There's also a porch to sit on and watch the world go by. The guest rooms range in price from $149 to $215.

The Cranberry Manor Bed and Breakfast is located on Main Street, just out side of the Historic Sandwich Center in a tranquil setting on Cape Cod.

The Cranberry Manor Bed and Breakfast is the only Sandwich lodging choice that I've found so far that has bee dedicated to the principles of feng shui. It has four rooms all expressing different feng shui principles.

The Hydrangea Room is decorated in shades of lavender to refresh and restore the mind, body and soul. The Morning Glory room is decorated in shades of blue representing the water element. The Daffodil room is decorated in shades of yellow to represent sunshine. The Geranium Room reds represent the earth. The rooms are beautifuly decorated with a variety of bed sizes.

Room Amenities include: Radio Alarm Clock; Hair Dryer; Iron and Ironing Board; Bottled Water; Bath and Shower Amenities; Cable TV, unless not desired; Wireless High-speed Internet Access

The Cranberry Manor Bed and Breakfast serves breakfast from 8 to 9 am fresh fruit, home made breads, hot and cold cereal and a "chef's" selection of the day. Coffee and juice are available earlier, if requested.

The Country Acres Motel is lcoated on Route 6A just outside of the Historic Sandwich Town Center.IThis motel is a good choice if you are looking for a family-oriented Cape Cod motel. Its grounds have a very spacious feel to them. A large pool with seating area is at the center of the courtyard, which is adjacent to the Great Salt Marsh of Cape Cod Bay. Sometimes if you have small children, it’s easier to let them play in the pool than to schlepp them to the beach. That way there’s a quiet room for nap time and you own clean bathroom is nearby as well. The rooms also have refrigerators and microwaves, so you can save on simple meals and snacks. There’s also a complimentary continental breakfast, except during the winter.

The Crow Farm Stand is right across the street so you can get fresh fruit, veggies, and baked goods. Even take a farm tour! It’s been there forever and is a Sandwich tradition.

The room rates differ by season, but they are still in the affordable range for a family vacation. If you want to come to Cape Cod in the Spring (May 1 to June 18) or Fal (August 30 to October 31), you can get a room with 1 Queen Bed from $74 to $84; a room with 2 Double Beds from $$84 to $94; and a larger room with 2 Double Beds and a pull-out couch from $89 to $99.

During the summer season you’ll still find affordable motel rates. A room with 1 Queen Bed ranges from $89 to $104; a room with 2 Double Beds ranges from $99 to $114; and the largest rooms with 2 Double Beds and a pull-out couch range from $104 to $124.

The Daniel Webster Inn is located on Main Street, in Sandwich, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod in the heart of the Town's Historic Center.

While it is true to say that the Daniel Webster Inn has been in Sandwich for 300 years, the older inn burned to the ground in the 1970s and was rebuilt from scratch. So while the newer structure, is beautiful it is not the historic structure that you might be expecting.

That said, the Daniel Webster Inn, or Dan'l Webster Inn, as it is technically called is a premier place in Sandwich, for weddings and other celebrations. It also has a spa, which is always a plus for me when I'm on vacations.

There are many different room options from the basic hotel room to deluxe multi-room suites.

Traditional Rooms feature a 4 poster queen-sized bed, writing table and sitting area. These rooms are located on the 1st floor of the enclosed Jarves Wing, easily accessible to the Main Inn.

Superior Rooms have two double beds and are located on the 1st and 2nd floor of the Main Inn or in the Fessenden Wing.

Deluxe Rooms are Located on the 2nd floor of the Main Inn or in the Fessenden Wing each room has: 2 queen beds, 1 queen bed or 1 king bed. Deluxe rooms are larger than the Traditional and Superior and offer a nicer view.

Jarves Suites are the newest and most demanded rooms. They are located on the 2nd floor of the Jarves Wing, accessible by elevator. A one room suite offering unique, hand carved furnishings, a luxurious 4-poster bed either king or queen-sized, a gas fireplace, a whirlpool tub, a 2-person glass enclosed shower and heated tile. Most offer a balcony. “Suite Dreams” amenities compliment all Jarves Suites.

Room Rates The Daniel Webster Inn doesn't list the room rates on their website. You have to imput data into a reservation process. So to get some idea of the price range, I selected a summer weekend July 17 - 19, a specified 2 adults with 2 children. A superior room was available at $219 a day.

Restaurants and Bars There are several dining options in the hotel. Leo and I often stop into the bar, if we are walking around the village at say 8 or 9 pm.

Spa Treatments And certainly don't forget that you can sign up for spa treatments. I've had a few of those as well for birthday and anniversary presents and I've enjoyed them immensely!

The Earl of Sandwich Motel is located on Route 6A in East Sandwich.

The name comes from an actual Earl of Sandwich in England. Legend has it that he liked to eat his meat with bread wrapped around it, thus inventing the "Sandwich." The Earl of Sandwich Motel really does look like it belongs in the English countryside and has beautiful landscaping to compliment it. Every spring I enjoy the azalaes that bloom in front of the buildings.

There are only 24 rooms, so you really do have personalized service at very reasonable prices. The actual room rates vary depending on the type of bed(s) and the days of the week you're staying. Here's an idea of the room rate charges. You should call the Earl of Sandwich Motel for the actual charges and taxes etc. Here's their number - 1-508-888-1415.

From January 1 to April 30 room rates vary from $55 to $79. From May 1 to June 18 room rates range from $75 to $89. During the summer, from June 19 to September 6, the still reasonable room rates range from $95 to $129. Beautiful Fall visits to Cape Cod from September 7 to November 28 are available at room rates from $75 to $89. Late Fall reservations can be made from November 29 to December 31 with room rates between $55 and $79.

All rooms have air conditioning, refrigerators, private bath, color/cable television and telephone. A complimentary continental breakfast is available every morning.

The Isaiah Jones Homestead Bed & Breakfast is located at 165 Main Street, in Sandwich, Massachusetts on Cape Cod.

It is a romantic Victorian setting with a main house and a carriage house. The lawns and landscaping are beautiful and include a tranquil koi pond. The porch overlooks historic Main Street.

There are 7 room and all have either a fireplace or glass stove. King or queen beds. Two luxury suites. A gourmet breakfast is included. Relax with flowers and chocolates. You are within walking distance of the beach or stroll the historic Sandwich village.

The Sandwich Motor Lodge is located at 54 Route 6A in Sandwich, MA. It used to be called Sandy's. It is a fabulous choice for a Cape Cod vacation.

The location is great because you can easily get to other areas of Cape Cod. It's economical because there is the Stop and Shop grocery story right across the road. So you can affordably stock your room refrigerator. And third, there's the British Beer Company Restaurant and Bar right next door. They have great food and entertainment.

If you are a smoker, the Sandwich Motor Lodge does have smoking rooms. This is not the case in many Cape Cod motels, so you might want to seriously consider this. Pets are also permitted, at an additional fee.

It has 67 rooms all of which have air conditioning, microwave and a mini-fridge.

There are several types of rooms available at the Sandwich Motor Lodge. The Standard Motel Rooms are located on the first floor off of the parking facilities. There are either two beds or a king bed. For an additional charge pets are allowed in these rooms.

One Room Suites are large hotel rooms located on the first and second floors. Single room suites contain either two beds or a king bed, activity table with 2 chairs, as well as a kitchenette (sink, mini-fridge & microwave). Some single room suites on the first floor have sliding glass doors that exit to our parking facilities.Handicap accessible suites may be available upon request.

Deluxe Suites are located on the first and seconds floors and line the indoor pool area. Two Room Suites have a large living room area with a pull out sofa, large television, activity table with 2 chairs, and kitchenette, as well as a separate bedroom area with another TV, large closet, and either two beds or a king bed. The non-smoking Deluxe Suites have either a slider or a window facing the indoor pool area; Only smoking Deluxe Suites are available with an exterior window.

The Sandy Neck Motel is located at 669 Route 6A in Sandwich, Massachusetts on Cape Cod.

It has spacious, well-kept grounds and is set well back from Route 6A. You'll find lounge chairs, picnic tables and outdoor barbecue grills for your use.

Rooms are quite affordable. This spring daily room rates range from $65 to $89. During the summer rates range from $119 to $129, and the Fall rates return to the $95 to $89 range.

Efficiency lodging is also available. For two persons the daily rate in the spring is $95, the summer rate increases to $150 and is $119 in the Fall. For 4 persons the daily spring rate is $175, the summer rate increases to $229, and in the fall it is $200.

The Sandy Neck Motel has a great location. you are a beach lover, you are on Sandy Neck Road which leads to Sandy Neck Beach, one of the best beaches on Cape Cod. If you love Italian food, you are right across the street from one of the best Italian restaurants on Cape Cod - Amari's. If you'd like to have your fortune told the Lavender Moon Gift Shop next door, has a psychic on duty.

The Spring Garden Inn is located at 578 Route 6A in picturesque East Sandwich on Cape Cod.

With its traditional architectural roots in the Cape Cod style of the 1940's overlooking a saltmarsh, you'll think that you've stepped back in time. But rest assured the rooms are updated and modern. The Spring Garden Inn is located on 11 acres of land. At one end there is a 20 x 40 in-ground pool. You are also about a 15-minute walk to the beach.

All rooms are air conditioned and heated, color TV's, refrigerators in rooms. Summer Season rates vary from $105 to $130. But rates are always subject ot change so give them a call at 1-866-345-5641 to confirm rates and availability.
