Santa Ana winds
57I must have bad apartment Kharma
I have a sinus headache. I'm pretty sure it's the Santa Ana winds picking up. Then again it could be from the carpet installers upstairs who started at 8 AM and just finished at 2 PM. It sounded like a herd of elephants on crack.
Did I mention I hate apartment living? Did I mention I miss the days when I owned a 2 bedroom house with a 2 car garage and my very own driveway? We moved out of the last apt. because they sold the whole complex. For the last six months we lived there we got to hear the apartment adjoining on the left being ripped clear of all it's appliances, cabinets and carpeting. Then we got to hear the adjoining apt. on the right going through it all over again.
So we moved here. We've lived here for 3 years. In those three years we've had 3 different owners. In fact it changed owners about 2 months after we moved in, even though no one told us it was being sold. In those 3 years, we've had four different families living upstairs. Every time one moves in or out we get to hear all the moving out, remodeling, moving in noises all over again.
Let's recap:
Family one was pretty quiet but had a treadmill machine so we got to hear the 2 of them work out everyday.
Family two was either having noisy sex all the time, or yelling and throwing furniture all the time. After the police intervened several times they moved out.
Famly three was two women and a teenage boy. His bedroom was right over mine and he played loud rap music every time he was home. The women often had screaming matches with each other over who didn't pay their share of the bills this time around.
Family four was a man, a wife and a teenage daughter. Although they were fairly quiet, they had a habit of sweeping their patio daily and shaking out all their blankets. Unfortunately they did it right over our patio and/or front porch. Once they even swept the water from their leaky air conditioner right onto my head. Then they got a small dog that barked all the time. They moved out a month ago and took the downstairs apartment across from us. The owner's been remodeling the upstairs apt. ever since.
The only way I could afford a house now is to either take up a life of prostitution or move out of California. Since it would take more than dynamite to get my boyfriend out of S. California, that's not happening either. He's a CA native and I'm pretty sure he plans to die in the same state he was born in.
I've lived in 4 states. I'm not particularly attached to any one of them.
At least I have a garden this time.
