It can be a huge expense to remodel your bathroom. For some reason, this tiny room can soak up vast amounts of money. I guess it's all the different elements and skills involved in reviving a bathroom - plumbing, electrics, tiling, decorating after you have designed your room which add to the cost.

And if you need new fittings then you are going to have to pay for them, AND get them plumbed in and the old ones taken away. Of course, if you are handy you can fit them yourself but you do still have to buy them.

In some ways the fittings are where you do not want to save money as adding cheap fittings will not enhance your room but there are some things you can do and here are some strategies that you can use.

7 Ways to Save Money on Bathroom Fittings

1. Stick with White

If you stick with white bathroom fittings you will have the most choice and will bed able to mix and match different ranges. In the future, if you need to replace one element you won't need to replace everything.

2. Buy a Bathroom Suite

You can often get a bargain by buying the bath tub, toilet and sink together. Of course that doesn't help if you don't like one element or one element doesn't fit. However some clever buyers still find it helps to buy the whole set and then sell the unwanted item of eBay. Again thsi works as long as you stick with white.

3. Go Plain

Buy the plainest, simplest shape of bath tub, toilet and bathroom sink and enhance it with beautiful faucets. The faucets will give a quality look and no one will notice that your bath is not the latest design.

4. Buy Online

You can more easily compare prices if you buy online and see all that is on offer from the various manufacturers.

5. Look for End of Range Sales

You will often find sales in exclusive bathroom stores when they change their displays. Usually the goods are perfect and you will have something stylish for a much lower price.

6. Try Your Local DIY Store

I was amazed at the range on offer when I went into my local mega giant "stack 'em high sell 'em cheap" discount DIY store. There were some beautiful bathroom sets right there on display which would have graced the most high end bathroom without costing high end prices.

7. Use Your Contacts

If you ask your plumber he may be able to get items cheaper than you by buying at trade prices. Some plumbers will pass on the discount. I thought it was too good to be true too but mine did last time I replaced my cloakroom fittings.
