Save money on your car fuel prices
51Save on your car costs
We are all aware of the growing costs in petroleum, and how badly we all feel it at the pump. Well, here are 3 very effective cost saving tips, they actually make complete sense when you think about them, and they are very worthy of your time and attention.
1. Alaway fill your tank in the morning.
Why? Well the reason is because over night it's cold, and the viscosity (the thickness of the fuel) is increased. This means that as the day warms up it becomes runnier, and it fills up your tank quicker. If it's thicker, as you use your engine, it becomes runnier and you will end up with more gas in your tank. Remember this one particularly, as it's what the petroleum companies do!2. When pumping gas or petrol into your tank do it slowly.
Why? When you think about this, it makes complete sense. When you pump fast, you are losing vapours. You are actually paying for these vapours, as they are coming out of the storage facility, and are being measured by the stations equipment as fuel sold, even though you do not actually get this fuel into your tank. Pumping slowly reduces vapours, meaning that you will get more of what you are paying for into your tank, and you are pumping less fuel.3. Don't let your tank go past the half full point.
Why? Well this is my particular favorite. When your engine is warm, or it's warm outside, when your tank is half full, you have allowed space for vapours to build up. This means that they will just evaporate away, and that is fuel that was in your tank that you cannot use, because it's gone. Never allowing your tank to get below half full, will prevent lots of vapours building up, and it's the fuel you have paid for, in your tank, being used by you.I personally have put these tips into action, and although I only put them into practise three months ago, I can see the difference, I get a whole lot further per gallon/litre of fuel and I pay a few bucks less at the checkout.

Easy and logical advises. Except for #1 (I never thought about that) I always follow those tips ;) Now I also have to remember to fill my tank in the morning, thanks.
