Step 3 Your Parents - Birth Certificates.
Obtain full copies of the birth certificates of both your parents . You must state the names of both thier parents and the year place of birth. this information has been obtained from your parents marriage certificate.
Your fathers birth certificate should show you (a) His fathers full name, age and birthplace and his occupation at the time of your fathers birth.
(b) His mothers maiden name, age and birth place. (c) The date and place of your grandparents marriage.
You should check that your grandparents names and compare them with the names shown on your parents marriage certificate. A second forename is often discovered.
Your mother's birth certificate should provide similer information about her parents.
Take note the occupations and places of residence of your grandfathers add the information now discovered to your pedigree.
Step 4 Your grandparents - Marriage certificate.
You should be able to obtain the marrige certificate of your grandparents these should add to your pedigree chart this information (a) The full names of your four great grand fathers and thier occupations. (b) The maiden names of your four greatgrandmothers.
Check that the birthplaces and ages of your grandparents agaisted the information set out from your parents birth certificates.
Tack note of the witnesses to the marriage and check religions for any variation over the years.Add to your pedigree keeping the famiies and generations clearly separated.
