After hurricane Katrina, I went without hot water in our home for two weeks. Luckily, my place of employment has showers so I was able to get a good hot shower on a regular basis. When power was restored my then 10-20 year old water heater was shot and had to be replaced. Unfortunately, I was not aware of Tankless water heaters or I would have surely taken a advantage of the more efficient source of "Endless Hot Water".

The recent "Green Movement", and cable channels like Planet Green, has made me mush more aware of the advance in Green technology and sustainable energy. I have begun to look more into Green renovation and perhaps you should too.

In the past few months the world has become more aware on the dangers of putting all of our eggs in one energy basket, and even though prices have fallen in recent months, rest assured, they will rise again. So now is the time to prepare, so that we don't get caught up in the frenzy that surely comes when the masses realize that there is a problem.

Tankless water heaters are definitely one cost effective renovation that most homeowners can quickly consider and possibly implement without much expense, in relationship to the cost and benefit.

There are several sites that can give you much more details about Tankless heater than I can in the space allotted. But I simply wanted to get your mind thinking in that direction and assist you with any research you maybe doing. Below are some sites that I have found extremely helpful in the way of information:

Pros and Cons

• Tankless hot water heaters save energy and thus money. • A Tankless hot water heater has a heating device that is activated by the flow of water when a hot water valve is opened. Once activated, the heater delivers a constant supply of hot water

• Tankless water heaters are limited in the amount of hot water that can be produced at one time. However by installing a larger unit, or multiple units, this shortcoming can be negated.

• The Tankless water heaters can cause an increase in wasted water since you have to let the water run longer to get your hot water. However, this problem by installing a specialized pumping system.

So if you are looking at renovating your home for the long term or for eventual resale when the Markets picks up. A Tankless water heater maybe a great investment to consider.
