Reusable Produce Bags

One of the many problems that we face today is the dreadful conditions that are happening to our environment. A major one of which is the use of plastic bags that ends up as the harmful agent that causes a lot of rubbish found not only in the land area but in every imaginable body of waters. These plastic bags are often mistaken as food by sea creatures that cause thousands of death each year.

Plastic bags that get buried in landfills could take up to 1,000 years to actually break down, and in the process they separate into tiny deadly particles that contaminate our soil and water. The process of manufacturing these plastic bags uses millions of gallons of oil! Imagine the amount of  resources it takes and the damage it does to our environment. The oil that’s used in manufacturing these wasteful bags could instead be used for fuel and heating or any meaningful and less damaging activity that would do us wel instead of doing harm to nature and ourselves.

As we all know plastic materials are actually non-biodegradable, and as mentioned above it takes a thousand years for these things to break down. Breaking down these plastics is never an easy job, as it goes through a process which is called “photodegradation”. It is basically the breaking down of poisonous particles into smaller pieces that could actually end up killing our wild life. When it enters the food chain it surely is will cause a lot of death.

Surely, there are some companies that offer reusable produce bags, which come in paper, instead of plastic bags. However, there is a down side to this alternative. Many of the consumers consider paper bags as a better substitute to plastic bags. What a lot of people don’t know is the number of trees being cut for these paper bags to be made. In the United States alone, they used over 12 billion paper bags each year and the number is continually increasing by the year. Imagine how many trees we need to supply the ever growing demand of paper bags alone. This seems like a dilemma; however there are is a better way to remedy this sort of problem. Instead of using plastic or paper bag we now have the option of using eco-designed products. These are products that are made of materials that don’t damage the environment during its production. Furthermore, these things don’t need to be discarded after use.

These eco-designed bags are rather stylish and long-lasting that would not only benefit our environment but your budget as well. If you want to see a good example of this eco-designed product, you can check  Charity Cases. They have a very good price for these shopping bags, which can function as reusable produce bagsas well, and not to mention that for every purchase a percentage goes to a list of worthwhile charities and schools.

By avoiding the use of either plastic and paper bags you can help build a better future. By simply of reusing your grocery and shopping bags, a cleaner and healthy future for you and your family is on its way. Not to mention the rest of the world and the coming generation.
