"A merry heart does good' is what the Good Book says. So does the medical establishment, the psychiatric association, the television counselor, the self-help author, and maybe your grandparents. Maybe you!

So let's read between the lines, put some words together, add some verbal feeling, and give ourselves some tasty medicine. Let's have a cheerful smile session together. It won't take long and the benefits are longlasting.

There is no agreement found on the number of muscles it takes to smile - vs. a frown.   www.wiki.answers says it takes 17 to smile and 43 to frown. The Washington Post states it takes 13 muscles to smile and 33 to frown. The New York Times states it requires 10 muscles to smile and 100 to frown. www.snopes.com gives a smile 22 muscles and a frown 37. But Dr. David Song M.D. a plastic surgeon at the Univeristy of Chicago Hospital states it takes one more to smile than to frown - 12 and 11. Smile anyway :-)

Smile, when your heart is aching, smile even though it's breaking. When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by. If you'll smile through your fear and sorrow, smile, and may be tomorrow you'll see the sun come shining through...If you'll just smile...

The giggly innocence of a chld's smile delights that same niche down in your own heart. Respond with your own, and keep in practice. Smiles are ageless!
