Saying Goodbye to Grandma
68She was a wonderful person, the best friend anyone could ever ask for. My Granny was a true blessing to anyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. She devoted her life to care for others as her career was that of a Home Health Nurse. Go-Go as she was named by her greatgrandson Collin, developed breast cancer in Feb 2005. She underwent a lumpectomy and rounds of chemo and radiation. By Oct 2006 she was having a lot of generalized fatigue. Upon testing and bone marrow biopsy she was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). She started her treatment in Dec 2006, again she had to battle for life. She always kept a smile on her face and never complained of pain. She was in clinical remission for about 11 months. In Dec 2007, our roller-coaster ride of emotions was once again about begin.
She was still a trooper, she lost her hair several times through her cancer battles; but always with bright blue eyes and a smile that could warm the coldest person's heart. Go-Go was told by her physicians that with her enlarged heart that with another round of chemo , her heart might not pull through. Being the person she was, she said "I'd rather die trying, than to do nothing at all" . She would always tell us that she wasn't going any where until the "Good Lord was Ready for Her". On the night of March 14, 2008, God came to carry her with His Loving Arms into Heaven. I don't worry about Granny being there, I know she is having a grand ole time, after all she is seeing people that she hasn't seen in a long time. Granny, I know you are having a blast up there chilling out Jesus, and all, But I just wanted to let you know that we are okay, just a little selfish, cause we miss you. Don't worry we are taking care of Pop too... Until we meet again .. I Love You....Renee

Your grandmother was truly a woman of rare fortitude, rich beyond treasures at having a grandchild who loves her as much as you do.
