Don't take those old clothes to Goodwill just yet, you might find this year's hottest trends buried deep inside your mother's fashion rejects drawer. One item that has made a return is the oversized scarf. Scarves remind us of the fashion glamour of the 50's, as well as the stars such as v who wore them as they drove their convertibles. It is undeniable what an artful decor and glitzy twist a scarf can give to your repertoire.

Scarves In Fashion

Light, flowing scarves can be seen all over the place in 2008. You don't have to tie them around your neck as is usual each winter. Many people drape the scarf around their necks rather than wrap it up. The point of the scarf is that it doesn't have to be worn in any given way. It allows you to introduce some of your own personality to your clothes, which is what fashion is all about.

Most Versatile Fashion Accessories

Wear scarves through the day and into the night. Celebrities are sporting them with everything from formal dresses to workout gear. To avoid a fashion mishap, try not to have too much going on with your scarf if your outfit is a loud fabric as well. Clashing is not acceptable. Scarves are the most versatile fashion accessories in my closet. Whether it be a bad hair day, rainy day, chilly or just brightening up your boring ensemble, scarves are a great addition.

Go And Have One

The cost of a scarf varies a great deal. However, a well-made scarf does cost. You pay for the quality of fabric and craftsmanship as well as elegant patterns. Names well known for the high quality of scarf produced are Hermes and Chanel. These famous brands have many classic designs. Bluefly.com and Shopbop.com carry a large selection if you want to shop at home. Sometimes, if you are really savvy, you may be fortunate enough to find a vintage Chanel or Hermes piece. Just remember, you will get what you pay for.

Me, I'll be hitting up my mom's accessory drawer to see if I can strike gold. Who knew that those flamboyant scarves that my mother paid so much for years ago would turn out to be so valuable today? Thank goodness that fashion is cyclical.

You have a great resource here for scarves - found one I've been looking out for for 3 weeks now.
