Schwinn 213 - Recumbent Exercise Bike Review

If you need a high quality recumbent bike that rates high on comfort and stability, the Schwinn 213 is an excellent choice.

I am not usually impressed with the functions and features on many recumbent bikes (or bikes in general) when compared to treadmills, for example. The 213 has some really nice features and function. Scwinn uses a patented term called Bio-Fit. This is a comfort system designed to ensure that each point of contact of my foot, butt, or hands gives me the right position, great comfort and adjustments.

For $600 the Schwinn 213 gave me 11 built-in workout programs and 16 levels of resistance which is more than enough. Seats are adjustable forward and back for different user leg lengths. The backlit LCD console is clear and easy-to-read showing you time, interval time, RPM, watts, distance, pulse, speed, calories, resistance, and alpha-numeric prompts.

Workout programs include ten profile courses - for example, you can set a goal to burn a chosen amount of calories, exercise for a specific time period or even do a fitness test. There's also quick start and manual modes.

One of the best things about the Schwinn 213 is how comfortable it is. The seat is extra wide and padded with lumbar support. This helps especially if you like longer workout. The Schwinn 213 also feels very sturdy when you use it - which is another essential feature in a quality exercise bike.

One of the highest rated exercise bikes on the market today, the Schwinn 213 was rated a "Best Buy" from Consumer Reports, particularly in the area of exercise range and quality. Buyers at Amazon also give it 4 out of 5 stars and users at epinions give it 5 out of 5 stars.

The Schwinn 213 is really made well. I like Schwinn products generally and this was no exception. It felt sturdy and didn't shake even at high speeds. I'm giving this bike 5 stars because not only is it, in my opinion, well made but it has more bells and whistles than any I can remember and I love bells and whistles. I find that those extras can make or break whether the consumer will continue to use a piece of equipment.
