Science Fiction

Science fiction, often refered to sci-fi, is a genre of fiction that involves speculations about the future science and technology. It often includes areas such as fantasy and horror. And, you'll often find themes of space, aliens, time travel, robots, and monstors.

In today's society, you'll find sci-fi themed movies, books, comics, advertisments and commercials.... Tattoos...

Sci-Fi Tattoos

Similar to the idea of a geek tattoo, Sci-Fi tattoos take on a similar connotation. These tattoos can represent what we want, see, and feel inside. They can represent anything and everything that can or cannot exist on this planet or on any other.

If you can conceive it, it can happen... Well, in the form of a tattoo, that is.

And, like geek tattoos, we cannot judge or criticize those who get the "crazy" tattoos of aliens ripping through skin, our own solar system, or even the transformer robots.

I mean there may be an underlying reason for you to get Jason, Mike Myers, and Frodo tattooed on your body. There may not. But, who is anyone to question you and your choices.

Maybe you see these science fiction ideals as metaphors that the simple mind cannot comprehend. Or, maybe, you just like the idea, thought, picture, or movie.

I can say that I have tattoos of bands on my arms, and although you may not understand them or the music, you Yoda tattoo is something I do not quite understand.

But, in all seriousness, science fiction tattoos are popular.

Common sci-fi tattoos include:

  • Aliens
  • Robots
  • UFOs
  • Planets
  • Rockets
  • Space Ships
  • Monsters
  • Science fiction movie characters
  • Star Wars themes and characters
  • Star Trek themes and characters

Science fiction tattoos are as endless as the imagination. One alien will never look like another. One robot's screws and nails will be the same as anothers. The tiny details are what defines sci- fi tattoos. These details make science fiction themed literature and movies different from most other drama in their field, so your science fiction based tattoo shouldn't be any different.

So, when you go to your tattoo artist make sure that he knows exactly what you want to the tiniest pinprick.

There are good and bad sci- fi tattoos out there. You don't want to get stuck with a bad one because you weren't clear with your tattoo artist. Or, because, you chose the wrong artist.
