Five Tips To Relieve Your Sciatic Nerve Pain
If you have lower back pain then you might have a from of sciatic nerve pain. Don't worry for I have several tips to help you with your sciatic nerve pain.
Here are some treatments you can do in the comfort of your own home to help you get free from sciatic nerve pain
1 Ice your back for the first two days to reduce swelling and infammation around the nerve. Apply the ice on ten minute intervals, for example ten minutes on and ten minutes off. Never put ice directly on your body use a thin towel to cover the ice. Stop applying ice at bedtime.
2 Stretch your Piriformis muscle. Loosening this muscle will reduce your sciatica pain immediately (See video below for demonstration)
3 Don't sit around getting stiff get up and keep moving. Your sciatic nerve pain will be more painful is you allow it to tighten. That is why you wake up in pain as your body has tightened up so move around slowly.
4 Make sure your pelvis is in balance. If one side is lower than the other then your body will compensate and tension will be created on the side that is copensating. To check if you are in balance lie down on the floor and put your hands under your pelvis and if one side has more pressure on it then you are out of balance. (you may need a little widget for your shoe, consult your chiropractor)
5 If you are suffering lots of discomfort then get professional help. There is no point suffering due ot sciatic nerve pain.
Hope these tips help you during this period of discomfort.
