Virtual Reality Futuristic Books

Science Fiction, Futuristic reading

is a great way to escape and become part of another world, books allow anyone to use their imagination and create a picture in the mind of what the characters look like and what the scenes represent to them.

Books can allow anyone to look into a scene of characters and admire, envy or fall in love with them, maybe the author portrays a character so well that they become a role model to the readers.

Some books are written in such a way that its easy to relate to the experiences and the subjects being presented. Maybe it is something that we have experienced in our own lives, or it is something we may have always wanted to do but just didn't have the nerve, so now we can live through the pages of the book as if we actually were there in person. Watching from afar, a spectator or a participant books make it all possible.

Some of the books I have recently read are more on the lines of futuristic, virtual reality and science fiction.

The Extreme Future written by Dr. James Canton

the founder of the Institute for Global Futures, http://www.globalfuturist.com/ an internationally recognized San Francisco based think tank. In the book he discusses the new emerging opportunities of the 21st Century,

The book covers:

  • How climate change and new energy demands will reshape the planet
  • How radical innovation trends will create personal wealth and competitive advantage
  • How shifting population trends will transform the workforce
  • How astounding medicine trends will radically enhance people's lives
  • How dangerours terrorism trends will threaten the individual and society
  • How the rise of China will bring on a new global power struggle

Another book that I recently started to read is The Virtual Community by Howard Rheingold, a multimedia columnist for Publish magazine and consultant to the US Congress Office of Technology

Being an insider to the networked communication and participant of the Bay Area "WELL" on-line community Mr Rheingold gives a tour of on-line culture in Japan, England, France, and on small and large bulletin boards and networks throughout the United States.

is Digital, whos character Detective Lieutenant Dore Konstantin who is the Chief Officer in charge of TechnoCrime, Artificial Reality Division. which leads her to Hong Kong's casinos and a staking ex-husband who is rich and powerful, you have a eyeful of delightful reading.
