A scooter moped is much like a small motorcycle and can be the ideal vehicle for efficiently getting around your city or village. You can buy scooter mopeds online at great deals, or search around retail shops in your area for more options. Many people choose to buy used scooter mopeds which are much more affordable than new ones, but it can be a challenge to ensure that you buy one in good safe working condition.

Scooter mopeds often have small whiny engines which are sufficient for getting around relatively flat towns, but may not be fast enough or powerful enough to ride on the highway or up and over big hills. Depending on the engine size, you may or may not be able to carry a passenger behind you as well. Many people believe that a 125cc scooter moped is the minimum engine size in order to carry a passenger in a very hilly city. If you will be primarily riding alone and don't foresee going up many steep hills, even a 50cc engine may be sufficient for your needs.

A scooter moped can not only be more easily maneuverable than a car, but it's typically much easier and cheaper to park as well. You can often park on the sidewalk or between parking spots depending in the laws in your particular city. You'll almost never need to circle the block endlessly while looking for your car-sized parking spot again! The main downside is that you are definitely more exposed to the elements and your surroundings than in a car. In a rainstorm, you can just turn on the wipers and drive a bit more conservatively while in a car. On a scooter moped, you'll probably want to stop and wait out the storm while under cover so that you avoid getting soaked and avoid dangerous riding conditions. It's important to always wear a helmet since head and neck injuries are so common in the case of a crash.

A scooter moped can be the ideal transportation for a student or young adult who needs to quickly commute between home and school or a job, and for whom owning a car may be difficult or too expensive. With a scooter, you can get virtually anywhere and can often carry a passenger with you. One downside is that it can be difficult to carry more than a couple bags of groceries or clothes with you. You may simply need to make more smaller trips, or consider renting a car for days when you know that you will need to bring a lot of stuff back and forth with you.
