Scooters wheels are a vital accessory for many motor scooters. You can find a variety of replacement and aftermarket scooter wheels online and in a variety of scooter accessory online retailers.

It's important to understand how scooter wheels differ from other types of wheels. A motorcycle wheel tends to be large than the typical scooter wheel which is normally on the smaller side. These smaller wheels were originally derived from spare wheels produced for aircraft landing gear, but proved to be an asset since they contribute to making scooters a more convenient vehicle than most motorcycles.

Almost all scooters have two main wheels and most have the ability to store a spare scooter wheel. The location of the spare can vary: sometimes it's mounted on the front of the scooter and other times on the back. It can be in the seat or even located between the driver's legs in some cases. It's important to keep your spare wheel in good condition with good air pressure since you never know when you will need to use it. If you anticipate changing the wheel yourself in an emergency, it can be a helpful exercise to practice changing scooter wheels once or twice at home where you are not under pressure and already late to your destination!

If you do have a flat tire on your scooter wheel, it's probably not worth fixing it yourself. If it's a small puncture from something like a screw or nail, any tire shop should be able to fix it easily at minimal cost. A larger tear or cut, especially in the side wall of the tire may be difficult or impossible to repair, and may require that you replace the tire on the scooter wheel completely. When buying a replacement scooter wheel, be sure to buy one that fits your scooter, and matches the style of your existing wheels.

You can probably find replacement scooter wheels at your local scooter shop. You can probably find better deals online if you know the exact size and style of the tire, and have time to wait for it to arrive. Be very careful to purchase the right wheel the first time since it can be frustrating to wait for a second wheel to arrive during which you may not be able to use your scooter at all!
