Scrapbooking Baby
Without a doubt, the most cherished and beloved scrapbook albums, I believe, would have to be ones that are about scrapbooking baby.
What could be more important, more special, and more wondrous than the birth of a new baby? Who can resist the total innocence and sweetness of a new precious little baby? Whether it is your baby, your best friend’s baby, your brother or sister’s baby, or even your grandbaby, babies are such a special gift from god, and each and every one of them, are a little miracle in their own right.
So why wouldn’t you want to make a beautiful album purely in their honour?
The amount of satisfaction and enjoyment that comes from scrapbooking is just amazing. Scrapbooking of printed material dates back to shortly after printing was invented and then once photography came into being, and the printing of photographs, well there was no holding back on the whole photo scrapbooking phenomenon. It is one of those things that just never goes out of date or fashion for that matter, and it becomes more valuable and cherished, the older it gets.
Scrapbooking has always been a way of preserving our memories and family history that we hold dear to our hearts and we do it through photos, through journaling, and with little bits of memorabilia or little keepsakes that we hold onto.
Your scrapbooking baby album will become a much treasured keepsake and in years to come you get such enjoyment out of flipping through the pages and having all of those precious memories come flooding back as though it were just yesterday. Your scrapbooking baby album can contain anything you like in it, there are no rules or constraints, it is your album and you decide what you want to put in it.
When you are scrapbooking baby, some people choose to go with a set theme for the whole album, whether it by a sports theme for a baby boy or a princess theme for a little girl. Personally I don’t choose any theme for the album, every page is unique, and every layout will have its own theme. Whether that be baby’s trip home from the hospital, baby’s first night at home, baby’s first bath at home, these things may seem simple and they may sound like every day events, but these are the ‘firsts’ for your precious baby and it will be those things that you will cherish when you look back on them.
Scrapbooking baby is among the top categories for scrapbooking, so you will never run out of ideas and materials for your baby scrapbook, whether you use die cuts, stickers, lumpy embellishments, brads, stamps, stencils, the list just goes on and on, and there is constantly more and more accents, accessories and tools being created for scrapbooking.
When it comes to preserving and storing all of the memories, photos, memorabilia and keepsakes that you associate with your baby, I don’t think you would find a better way than ........ Scrapbooking Baby!!
Scrapbooking baby, the good and the not so good.
One thing that some people often forget or overlook when they are scrapbooking baby, are the not so good times they have with baby.
Now again it is your scrapbook and you get to choose exactly what you want to put in there, but consider perhaps the possibility or doing a layout or two in memory of the not so good times. Now I do know from personal experience that the ‘not so good’ times are pretty rare, lol (laughing out loud), but it is all part of the memory of your precious little baby, not everything is roses all the time.
We all tend to get caught up on scrapbooking all of those wonderful times, the smiles, the laughter, the precious little moments, but wouldn’t it be nice to capture a small glimpse of the whole picture? The good and the not so good? Now notice I didn’t say the good and the bad? That’s cause as parents we know there are no ‘bad’ parts, just some bits that aren’t quite as good as others.
You could make a page or layout in your scrapbooking baby album about a windy day. No I don’t mean wind as in the breeze outside, but rather the wind in baby’s tummy. Now that may include photos of pacing the floor with baby, rubbing and patting baby and probably a few of baby being rather upset and lots of tears, which all sounds a little depressing.... but it doesn’t have to be. You could finish the layout with a beautiful picture of baby resting happily, fast asleep in the land of nod. Now wouldn’t that be a nice ending to a not so good day?
So remember sometimes it can be just as important to record and document the not so good days as well as the good, great, perfect days!!
I hope this may inspire you to create your own, “not such a good day” page or layout of your very own in your scrapbooking baby album. Go on, give it a go, I’m sure it will be just beautiful.
