Who doesn't? I started out as a webmaster with no knowledge what so ever as far as SEO goes. My websites suffered dearly because of this. Months would go by without any type of significant traffic increases.

I read everything I could get my hands on in terms of search engine optimizing. All in hopes of flooding my site with traffic and making me money.

That was my first problem!

This leads to my first Search Engine Optimization tip:

If you're doing this just to drive up your traffic and make money, you're doing nothing but trying to kick water uphill. You've got to have a site and update it constantly because you are passionate about the subject. If your posts aren't written with the motive of passion for the subject behind it, your viewers will, consciously or subconsciously, notice the lack of desire and you will make little to no money.

Many new site owners and even some veterans roam around the SEO world with no path of direction.

While the age of your site is probably the most important component in getting ranked high in search engines, there are other methods that comply strongly with search engine algorithms. Things such as headings, font styles, social sites submitted to, article directories, and so on.

My suggestion would be to use variety on your first 10 or more posts and make a log which records everything you do on each post (the picture is an example of my log). After a few weeks, you can see which methods worked the best and then go from there. But continue to log your tips and methods as you'll want to change it up from time to time to further experiment what may be even more effective for search engine optimization.

If you follow these methods, you should have no problem figuring out a sure fire way to increase your traffic. The truth is, no one really knows what the best method of SEO truly is. From my experience, each site pleases search engines differently so you have to figure out which method works best for you. So you can accomplish that by recording everything you do!
