A Tale of Two Brothers - A Ride For A Cause

It is amazing. Not shortly after I completed my hubpage about my nephew Pasquale, I received an email from my nephew Nigel. He too has decided to ride in the 2009 Tour De Cure.

It reinforced the ideal that Diabetes is a family disease. It not only "assaults every organ of the human body", but it also causes unseen emotional trauma and stress. I have a friend who is in North Carolina. He lost part of foot to the disease. He is still suffering from the daily pain of neuropathy.

Seeing both of my nephews involve themselves in an activity that is geared towards help others is extremely heartwarm. Too often young black men are portrayed as being thugs and hoodlums. The reality is those are the anomilies. The majority of young black men in America are like my two nephews striving to make the world they came into a better one.

Support them in their efforts to help make a difference in other peoples lives by riding in this event. 35 miles is a lot miles. I think in the last 10 years I've ridden a bike for about 2.
