Second Chance and Chexsystems
Second chance checking accounts and the Chexsystems go hand in hand.
Chexsystems is like a credit bureau which keeps tab about your credit
score and the credit history. Chexsystems keeps tabs on your bank related
history and will keep on putting notes against your name you have amounts
overdue against your name or if you have the fraud against your name.
Similar to Chexsystems there are other system that are in place in the
banking system and these are SCAN and the Telecheck. Though the
Chexsystems is the most used by the banks.
When you walk into a bank to open your checking account then the banks verify whether you are on the Chexsystems for some kind of violation or
not. If you are on the Chexsystems then most likely you will be denied the
checking account with then bank. So what are your options now as you just
cannot go on with your life without a bank account. Without a bank account it
is very tough to do each transaction in cash. The very thought of
carrying huge amounts of cash in your pocket is not very pleasing.
The second chance checking account is the answer to your needs. The second
checking account is opened by those banks which are non Chexsystems banks.
There are a lot of banks now in the industry that do not even worry about any
background check on you and there are simply the now questions asked
checking accounts. These banks are non Chexsystems banks and they simply open an
account for you. The benefit for you is that you will get an account and a
routing number and also you will be able to get a ATM card or the prepaid
visa debit card. This helps as that will mean that you have a bank account
that you can call your own.
Accounts on Chexsystems rethink
Now a lot of big name banks have also started giving out the 2nd chance
checking accounts or the fresh start checking accounts because of the
simple reason that a lot of items for Chexsystems will not be truly
accurate and a lot of people may end on the Chexsystems not because they
did something intentionally but rather they were not aware a certain fee
being levied or they did not even know that they can end on the Chexsystems.
That is the reason that a lot of banks now offer the second chance checking
accounts.
A lot of internet checking accounts and the online banks that are there
offer the second chance checking accounts,. There are a few names like the
Accountnow which have done very well and offer the checking accounts that
do not verify your information with the Chexsystems.
It is in your best interest to be ware of the Chexsystems and make sure
that you do not do any fraud and pay all your bank dues on time. In case you
have some outstanding dues then pay those and ask the bank to place a note on
the Chexsystems that you have made the outstanding payment.
