Secrets to Winning McNopoly

Every year, McDonald's turns me into a crazed madman because their Monopoly game. I always get sucked in, hoping it will pay off with with one quick peel. This year, I've gotten more into the game than ever before. Not only am I going with friends every single night to McDonald's and ordering off the Monopoly menu, but I'm also entering every single code I get online for an extra chance to win. Recently, I decided to do some research as to how I improve my chances of winning a cash prize. From what I've learned, there is one secret--DON'T PLAY. The odds are so significantly against you winning that it is not even worth playing, unless you enjoy it simply for the thrill of peeling the pieces.

McDonald's doesn't randomly make and distribute game pieces. Every set has one piece that is extremely rare to find. Apparently, the odds of winning even the smallest cash prize is about 1 in every 91,000. Most of the other prizes are less likely than winning millions of dollars in the lottery. McDonald's gives out millions of most property pieces and then only a few of others. There is one piece that is extremely rare in each set. For example, Park Place is easy to get ahold of, but the Boardwalk game piece is almost non-existent. McDonald's only prints three Boardwalk pieces and only one person can claim the million dollar prize. Think of how many McDonald's there are in your county, let alone the entire country. There are two McDonald's in my city alone. They each are probably selling a couple pieces a minute. With that in mind, it is way too difficult to get hands on a rare game piece. Not only is a Boardwlak piece not at the McDonald's that you typically go to, but it's probably not even at a McDonald's in your state. Based on the rarity of winning pieces, I recommend not even getting involved with this promotion.

You may be thinking that playing online would give you much better chances to win, since you have what looks like a chance to land on every property. Although I don't know the exact statistics, I propose that's it's less likely to win online than finding the right physical pieces. I've entered all my pieces online and the same thing happens. There is one property in every set that is pretty much impossible to land on. I am missing exactly one property from each set. If I land on anything new, I will win cash. I've gone around the board multiple times now and still have not landed on any of the spots I need. The dice rolls are obviousy rigged. I've read first-hand accounts from people have gotten the correct dice roll to win a cash prize. That's when something odd happens. One person said he landed on the property he needed and then the site had an error. He had to refresh the page. When the page started working again, his playing piece was back where it was before the dice roll and then his code that he entered didn't work because the site said he already entered the code. Another gamer said he got the correct number he needed on the die, but as his piece was moving, one of the die changed to a higher number so that his game piece would miss the desired propert. Based on my own playing experience and the accounts I've read online, I strongly advise you not to spend extra money on the McDonald's Monopoly game, no matter how enticing it might seem.

what a breakthrough you've made on the mechanics of the mcdonalds monopoly [sarcasm].

I'm willing to bet all those rumors you've heard about glitches in the online portion are false. The rolls are rigged to where you only win a prize if mcdonalds wants you to win a prize, they don't have to cheat once you do.

I realize I didn't make a breakthrough. This is just something that I was really into. I'm trying to save people the trouble of going to McDonald's more than usual and wasting money. I know that this isn't all new information, but it's something I felt the need to write about.

Also, I don't know whether or not the glitches are true since I didn't experience them. Regardless though, the point is that you're not going to win by playing online. I've gone all the way around the board now 20-30 times without landing a new property.

Anyways, I'm trying to be helpful, while at the same time take my anger out from this promotion.

That sucks. McDonald's sucks. Their junk is making everyone fat, ugly and sick and then they insult our intelligence with this stupid "game"? F McDonald's!

I rolled a six while on New York Ave and thought I won Short Line RR. My lil' ol battleship was moved...then it moved again...past Short Line RR...then again past ? to Park Place. That's when I said the hell with it. (the game gave me another roll of the die-my six was a 5 and a 1-not a double 3.)

Just a 'nuther note: bought th' big 'ol Angus burger meal as "take out"...it offered 2 more game pieces on th' box the burger came in. After gettin' back to work I discovered the box DID NOT have the game pieces. Next day again at Mikey D's...I mentioned this and they said "they no longer have Angus burger boxes with the game pieces."

I usually do not eat McDonlad's "stuff' fer lunch much...but I did take stock in th' number of game pieces I have collected and realized I was buying considerably more "stuff" from this fast food joint. Had to tell myself "Whoa horsey-that's enuff!" No mo' monopoly cuz I KNOW I will not realize any reward(s).

Po Boy, I feel for you. I never win either. I put in the maximum amount of entries online almost every night too. I go almost every night now and buy things right off the Monopoly menu just to win, yet three times I've gotten back home only to find out that my large drink cup had no pieces on it. And what you said about ur online experiences--that really sucks. It makes me so mad that they can rig it like that, but I find myself playing and wasting my money anyways. I am so addicted.

I got into the game last year. I only needed one piece in almost all of the sections both the peels and online. The other piece never appeared, not even for the smallest prize. I realized it was so not worth it. Your chances of winning the lottery are higher than your chances of winning anything other than food at McDonald's.

I played one time and pulled off boardwalk. I traded it in for one million double cheeseburgers. In hind sight, I should have got something to drink too.

Cocopreme, I completely agree with you. Today's the last day to get game pieces and I don't think it's been worth it all.

Dollar Menunaire, bad trade.

I'm not sure about what kind of game they are playing. I played the Monopoly game a few years ago; I had Park Place, my friend had Boardwalk. I called them up and was told that only pieces with a call number on them were the true winning pieces. Bullshit.

Friend of mine bought McDonalds "stuff" fer lunch (I was riding along)-he was hoping fer some game pieces-got th' big 'ol Angus cow sammitch w/extra large fries and corn syrup drink ($6.55!)-no game pieces! He was pissed-I just laughed...FOOL! McD's still had th' big banner ads toutin' th' monopoly game pasted on windows,etc...

M.M. That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. I would talk to a lawyer or something bout that. It sounds like McDonalds screwed you outta a million dollars.

and po boy, I think Mcdys shoulda took their signs down, but I guarantee that wasn't an accident

Sadly, there's nothing I could do about it now - those pieces are long gone.

Was just thinkin'...maybe McD's outta change game to "Wall Street"...at least one could cheat,lie,deceive-get other folk's money, an' most important...get away with it,eh? Just a thought...

That's not a bad idea--one problem though. Not many people would find excitement in playing "Wall Street." The nice thing about Monopoly is that you get a proprty just about every time. It's much less fun to get a "Sorry, try again" piece than a common property piece, even if they mean the same thing.
