Let's discuss several things, relevant to creating an online business. What are the trends or major reasons people go online?

To gain something or feel something inside. Social sites are giving people a sense of belonging. Facebook is about as strong as Google for number of visitors. This is because people are finding others to chat with, and to create a sense of belonging by building relationships. There is a void or a need that people are trying to fulfill.
To learn. The internet is a vast resource of information that can tell us things we never knew about. It can provide reviews of things we want to understand more about.
To be entertained. You can now watch almost any movie or TV episode on the computer - and without as many commercials!
To buy, sell, trade. This is a simple reason but it is often bundled with the other elements we've. Do you want to buy from an unknown person or someone you connect with or like?
Speed. Instant gratification can be had on the internet. Quick purchases, quick contact with people, quick information gathering.

So, your online business needs to connect with some of the motivations people have for being on the internet. To fulfill a need or want or desire, entertain them, create a relationship, teach them, and deliver quickly. And you have to deliver that message in as unique a way as you can. Your online business needs to be memorable. Now, on to some ideas!

Creating an Online Business and working from home can be started part-time or full time, or as an additional way to earn money while you are working elsewhere. Many are working at other jobs until their Online Business provides for their financial needs. What's for sure is that you need the business idea, and the technology and tools to be effective and efficient.

1. Computer, Technology: This category could really encompass everything else. Computers are a requirement for a home-based business, and many businesses are run without even leaving the home office. Every discussion about working from home relies on computers and technology. The products are ordered and received right after they are paid for - nothing else for you to do!
