Seiko Le Grand Sport is a visually versatile set of watches, made for men and women. As the title implies, the collection exhibits a sports streak – but in a casual or dressy package (depending on the model). The basic setup of a round bezel and a naturally flowing bracelet creates an effective and confident look, which eschews the extremes of Sportura or Velatura. It seems that the “sport” in the title alludes to the tie kinds, such as snooker or golf. Le Grand Sport is a rare Seiko collection that offers rectangular (tonneau shaped) watches.

Several characteristics unify the majority of Le Grand Sport timepieces. First, most of the watches employ Roman numerals, the must-have for a design that wants to display class. Second, the collection abandons the muscular hands used in Arctura or even Coutura, and puts on slender, even or leaf-shaped markers that add a touch of grace to the timers. Third, this collection goes back to the basics of Arctura in terms of dial clarity: the less busier, the better.

Finally, the subdials and indicators in the chronograph and power reserve models are not given the stage to play a main role – instead, they're stylized and subdued to support the unity of the overall design.
