serene irene,

you lovely queen

the world is your clay

we beg you to play

with those

for these

make us peace

sculpt it out

nature above

bare-handed love

my eirene siren

give us your call

make us artists all

for these are the facts

we need your Pax

serene irene

peace-giving queen

Who is Irene?

The name Irene comes from Greek mythology. Irene is synonymous for peace itself and the Greek Goddess Irene, also known as Eirene, was generally depicted in sculpture as a lovely young lady. She was often pictured with three items, a cornucopia which is the horn of plenty and symbolizes abundance, a scepter to indicate her diety and a rhyton which is sort of flowing torch which indicates neverendingness of libation or luxury.

Truly poverty is a great breeder of discontent, hence her horn of plenty and rhyton of neverending well-being/wealth is a harbinger of peace. When we figure out how to share that properly, our world will be at peace.
