Seriously - Why can't I stop eating junk?

I have issues, whether they are mental or just emotional, I seriously can't control my portions when eating! You would think that I am overweight but I am only 8-15 pounds overweight and I have struggled with it my entire adult life. Keep in mind that I stress about the weight because I am older and my body is changing. I am trying to be realistic and determine what I have to do to drop this extra weight NOW. I am a good person and eat healthy, I just eat a lot at one time.

I do good one day and then bad the next. I realize that once my brain determines that I will not eat 3 pieces of pizza (as I did tonight) then my body will follow. But, for some reason, I eat and have little to no willpower. I am only a little overweight because I actually do workout. I am stressing right now over the pizza I just ate as I am typing this article! Yes, I have weight lose issues!

How do I get my willpower under control, or my mind wrapped around eating right (not dieting, but eating right)? Because I am over 40 now, so I know that my body can not take three pieces of pizza and then run it off tomorrow. It will take me several days and/or weeks to work off that many calories. I am writing this article in hope that women (and men) in their 20s and 30s, watch out and learn from my mistakes. Seriously, you better make healthier choices in your eating habits. You will wake up one day and have 5 extra pounds, then 10 and then you will be working extra hard to get it off.

When I say it's not about dieting, that is true, think of it as eating clean and healthy to live longer and enjoy doing more. Dieting is just a word but being healthy is so much more, so make your changes, eat right, lots of veggies and fruit, lean protein and exercise consistently. This will help you as you are aging. Start today, start now, don't wait!

If you don't buy junk you can't eat it. If you want to lose weight and get to your ideal size all you have to do is eat real unprocessed foods.

Yesterday Yahoo ran a story on the oldest living man... now living in Montana. He is 113 about 5'7" and 125lbs. 35 years ago he stopped eating dinner. He eats a big breakfast of "pancakes or eggs and toast". He eats a big lunch and a lot of fruit. And his advice to live longer was to simply stop eating so much.

I had a integrative medicine physician tell me this "Eat light after 5". Weight is not a problem for me... actually hard to keep it up. But that's because I don't eat junk. Never buy anything off the middle isles of the Grocery Store. The REAL food is always on the outside isles.
