Serpentine or New Jade Gemstone

Serpentine seems of got its name from the word serpent as it resembles of its color and markings resembling the skin of snake. It is also referred to as ‘New Jade' gemstone though it is not a Jade stone and is seen in a variety of colors ranging from Green, Black-Green, Brown-Red, Brown-Yellow and White. It has a hardness rating of 2.5 to 5.5 and is used for making jewelry beads, carvings etc. This stone is considered an excellent stone for meditation and for enhancing spiritual exploration. The gemstone is also said to promote good luck and can help people reach their business and personal dreams and desires. This stone is associated with the Zodiac Sign of Gemini.
