I could drink this stuff straight out of the bottle!

This is a quick and easy "secret" recipe I use to get compliments when I have guests or need a quick pot-luck dish to make taste buds tingle.

Use a medium glass or stainless steel bowl to mix (bigger is better when you have to whisk even a small amount of liquid!). Transfer to a cruet or travel container to store. I like to dress the entire salad and toss at the table, but you can let everyone add their own to the greens. Just make sure you make enough.....and a little goes a long way. It's easy to overdose an individual salad if you haven't tasted this dressing's oooomph.

In a bowl, whisk:

2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons of rice vinegar (apple cider vinegar will do in a pinch)

2 tablespoons of soy sauce

½ cup of salad oil

4 tablespoons of sesame oil (great to have on hand for stir fry too)

1 tablespoon of lemon or lime juice.

Pepper to taste....I even zip it up with hot red pepper flakes...your choice.

Let sit for 10 minutes for flavors to meld, shake; dress & toss with just about any kind of greens, cooked veggies, or pasta salads. Particularly good with a variety of leafy greens, but I have even chopped up just some bok choy and a little onion for a very simple and quick salad that everybody loves. You can garnish with sesame seeds or slivered almonds for extra crunch and eye appeal.

I have substituted olive oil for the sesame oil....added some dried herbs, and it was very good. But the original recipe is the best.

It is good for pot luck dinners because you can carry the cut greens in a bag, bring a bowl and the bottled Sesame Mustard dressing, and throw together just as people are ready to eat. Easy to clean-up and carry home.

I always prepare, cook, serve & store food in glass, ceramic, stoneware, or stainless steel. Plastic and non-stick surfaces can leach chemicals. Never microwave food in a plastic container or covered with cling wrap.
