Set yourself goals and new challengers it will give you untold rewards
72The best way to achieve anything in your lifetime is to set goals for yourself. I am not suggesting you decide to buy a $50,000 car and expect to do it in a few months. No, think of something you would love to have and go after it.

CREATING A BUDGET
Sit down and plan a budget, then you can make this goal possible. To do this, you need to add up everything you have to pay out each month, including food, medical benefits, fuel, and insurances. Include a little extra to cover those little incidentals that have a habit of popping up when you least expect it.
Divide this by 52 if paid weekly or by 12 if paid monthly. Now you have an accurate idea of how much you need to put away every week to cover all expenses. Work out how much money you will have left, and then set a specific amount aside, to achieve your goal, and stick to it.
Setting achievable goals
You need to choose something that you really want and put a picture of it on your fridge or somewhere in full view where you will see it every day, as a constant reminder.
Start small, then when you achieve this one, set yourself another more difficult goal. Each time you achieve something, reward yourself with another well-deserved treat.

Setting Challenges for yourself
From the time you are born, life will test you. Some people face more obstacles than others do. Why? I cannot explain why life hurts and challenges some people more than others. Does the man above know which person is stronger than the other person is, or is he testing them to improve and make them better? I do not know.
I do know that we need to push ourselves. That's right. Anyone can go to work 9 to 5 every week without having any incentive to improve him or herself. I know of people that have worked in the same place for thirty years and enjoy their job immensely. That is terrific. They may have other outlets that give them challenges through trying new hobbies, and sporting interests. Everyone is different; at least I like to think so. Wouldn't it be boring if everyone looked and did exactly the same things?
If you're not happy in your job, would you stay there for thirty years? No, at least I hope not. This is where you may need a little push. Set yourself a challenge. This does not have to be anything to do with your career. It could be taking a course at college. Learn how to paint, sew, crochet, learn to drive, become a pilot. In fact, challenge yourself to tackle something new, that you have not done before.
The other week I saw a ninety plus woman jump out of a plane. Wow! How daring was she? I could never imagine doing anything like that. Yes, she evidently loved every minute of it. Good on her, she achieved her ultimate challenge.
Everyone can set themselves new challengers in their lives. Whether you study something new at college and start a new career or something completely different. Whatever you do, give yourself a fresh look at life.
Personally I have tried so many different things, once achieved I lost interest and headed off to new horizons. Nothing I did was spectacular but to me it challenged me. This is the driving force.
Things I tried
Here are a few of the positions I held and challenged myself to do: I was a receptionist, secretary, shop assistant, courier driver, started my own screen printing business, taught computers, managed babysitting and cleaning service, managed motel, managed caravan park, managed a service station.
Each of these challenges gave me a feeling of success and achievement. I had found something different to push me in a new direction. And now I write all sorts of things and enjoy every minute of time spent in this way.
We all need to strive to improve ourselves. Do not let yourself become in a rut. It does not matter if we succeed or not, the most important thing is to try.
We can do anything if we are prepared to try. So come on, why not give it a go and see what you can achieve in your lifetime.

Hello there Mr M. Glad you agree with me, and with your whole heart to. Gee you need to keep a bit for other hubs too. Have fun enjoy your day. thanks.
Hi Eileen, another inspiring hub..... i will embarking in a new job next week ...a bit nervous this time, l consider this a new challenge, since I was so comfortable with my old job.....sometimes we need a new challenge to keep the spark and makes life more exciting..... Regards MM
mmdel rosario. You are so right. It is that challenge that gives you inspiration to keep going. Dont get me wrong I am the most chicken person around, scared of snakes, flying, sharkes.
But will have a go at anything new, where I feel safe, Getting the sack would never worry me. I would rather tell them where to go and have done that. To be really honest, I havent always been that way I was so shy when younger I could not even speak to someone because wasnt sure if I was worth it. Then I changed and decided to go for things. win or lose, so what. We can really only do our best and that is all we need to do. Thanks for stopping by. Good luck with new job. Go for it.
Very useful advice. I think we have to take chances, win, or lose, or we will never get anywhere.
Louie, That is so true, I just hope this might get people thinking about changing their lifestyle and give incentive to do more with their lives or a least have a go. Thanks for stopping by
Hi Eileen, you have tried so many jobs. They must be interesting. Inspiring hub. :)
Great tips on goal setting. This is what I did when it came to paying off debt and it worked well for me. Goals are great things to work towards.
Beats me, I love to try something new all the time. And thats only half of it.
Sweetie pie. I reckon you have to have goals or dreams.
Hi Eileen,I'm 41 and I've done practically everything already.I'm a risk taker and challenge is my middle name.I look for the challenge in everything i do.There's so many oppurtunitys out there that you would never run out.I like your idea about keeping a picture on the fridge.I did this with one of my first motorcycle's soon as i got the money together it was mine until i wrecked it two months later, another picture went up on the fridge for the next lol.See ya later Eileen.
truestory. I like your pic. Yes that is what I have done over the last many many years. Just keep looking for something new to challenge me. I started writing what seems century's ago.
It took me ages to get anywhere. Nothing for money but enjoying it in here and a couple of places. You never know what u can do until you try. So keep on trying and succeed at many different things. Life is a challenge, in itself.
Great tips Eileen, you are right we have to plan positively.
Cgull, thats right, although best laid plans do sometimes go astry, but we have to try
This all sounds like good advice, Eileen. Trying new hobbies is a good way to keep a fresh perspective on things. You just never know what might catch your interest unless you try it. You sure did have quite a lot of interesting jobs, although the one that really caught my eye was managing a caravan park. Thanks for sharing this entertaining hub.
Your fan.
Mon.
Monitor. It kept us out of mischief, and some people werent the best to handle at times. They thought they were always right and could do as they like. But we soon sorted it out. As you have to try and live in harmony when living in a park.
Thanks for stopping by.
Goal setting is of secondary importance. It only leads me into an action plan. Action plan guides my day. The results of my actions I do not wait for. I do believe in my Master for whom I am working. The rewards and punishments He gives me. He only empowers me . He gets it done through me.
