Setting Up A Business
Setting up a business takes a lot of planning, but if you're committed to the idea of starting up your own business you can free yourself working for the benefit of another company and boss who may not treat you very well at all, a new business start up takes dedication and motivation to see it through and it all starts with the drive and the enthusiasm you would put into any hobby that you partake in your spare time or even better your business could be your hobby.
To set up a business, an idea followed by a business plan is needed and these two together make your business be built on a good solid foundation if you spend time writing your business plan, your plan is your guide for you and any other vested interest such as your bank manager or other person if you intend to take out a loan and it should include the summary of your business, a CV/resume covering your main skills and possible qualifications related to your business idea, market research details, a cash flow analysis of how you see the businesses profit forecast.
Setting up a business takes time and effort and all of your spare time will go out of the window when you begin to work for yourself, so it is essential that what time you do make for your business whether that is marketing or product creation, you make time for those around you as they may need you especially if you work at home, but this does not mean that they take advantage of this just because you are around the house all day, you need to make it clear that you are indeed working and not chatting in online forums all day and playing world of war-craft.
What I've found with setting up a business is that everything needs to be done all at once, but the ideal way of handling this is to prioritize your tasks in order of importance and work through them, maybe making a daily plan of these jobs and ticking them off the list and when they are all done you can concentrate on other areas of the business that are not urgent but they do count towards the growth of your bottom line profits in the future.
Before you start a business, there may be other things to think about for your business like legal requirements and any licenses that may be needed for your business to operate and not to mention other expenses like bills and business costs that should be detailed in your business plan also.
Business set ups can be done with support or just with lots of planning and research into your business niche on your own and particularly with an online business it is far cheaper to run with not much money to invest initially at the outset, but as your site grows or as your product portfolio grows you will need to invest a portion of your earnings back into the business for new areas of development.
To set up business in today's economy is a good idea and one to strive for as who knows in the future, you may have a thriving business where you can either work as your own boss or hire someone to oversee the business whilst you play golf or go and write and draw that graphic novel that you've been meaning to do, but didn't have the time because you was working for a right twat of a boss who took you for granted!

You are so right that starting a business is lots of hard work. I am just getting familiar with my home based business so to speak of. I am an ODSP recipient and because of the way i get paid for working part-time they have deemed me as an independent person or business. I think there are different rules per say that we have to follow and thank god for a worker to contact and talk with to know what to do. This is very new to me and thinking in business terms it's quite exciting for the first time for myself...:)
I still have plenty to learn but it's good to know that there are other people out there to help us keep going.
