Severe acne treatment can come in several forms.  The problem with acne is it really affects everyone differently so there really is no set in stone treatment.  I call acne the trial and error disease because that really is the only way you are going to find something that works.

People who have never suffered from acne really have no clue.  They look at us like we are freaks.  They think we can just take a pill and everything will disappear.  I myself have been let go from jobs because of my acne.  My bosses told me they didn't think I was doing what needed to be done.

Also for people who haven't suffered from acne, they think oh well its not a big deal.  Well let me tell you as a teenager trying to get a date, that was a big deal.  Going several nights without sleep, that was a big deal.  Bleeding all over my clothes and bedding, that was a big deal.  having people stare and talk behind my back, that was a big deal.  And not being able to do anything when it came to severe acne treatment, well that was the biggest deal of all.

So many people ask what actually works when it comes to severe acne treatment? That really is a loaded question because there are so many different treatments that produce so many different results for different people.

When we look at treatments something as simple as drinking lots of water to taking the dreaded drug Accutane are two worlds apart.  First of all the herbal stores will have their forms of remedies.  While I have used herbs successfully for other stuff I wouldn't recommend it when it comes to acne.

Then there are literally hundreds of over the counter medications that are available.  Some do work well for many people and then not so great for others.  These are totally dependant on the individuals themselves.  Over the counter would definitely be my recommendation to start when trying to look for severe acne treatment.

Lastly it may be time to go see your Doctor to get some help.  When it comes to this you are likely going to be dealing with some severe drugs.  I am sorry to say but almost all medications that need to be prescribed tend to be very harsh and in many cases don't always work right off the bat.  Sometimes you need to try several of these terrible medications before finding something that works.  One other thing acne sufferers need to know is that in some cases you may not even find a medication that works and your only cure may be time.

 Another loaded question when it comes to severe acne treatment is how long does treatment take?  Well like I said earlier acne is what I call the trial and error disease.  This means you may need to try several things before you find something that works,

One of the biggest mistakes acne sufferers make is not allowing medication enough time to work.  People will use whatever treatment for a week or two and then move on to the next one before giving the first one a chance to work.

Believe it or not you should give all medications at least 6 to 8 weeks before giving up on it.  That allows enough time for any medication to kick in and you will know if it is working or not.  Another thing that is very important to know about severe acne treatment is that with most medications your acne will actually seem to get worse before it starts getting better.  Dont panic if this happens because it really is normal.

 It may seem like you go forever with no relief but eventually you will get ahead and feel good about the severe acne treatment that finally works for you.

You need to understand that you are still a good person no matter how many pimples you have on your body.  The other thing you need to focus on is not being scared to try anything you can.
