Because it is in their nature to be super clean and hygienic, for a long time the Japanese believed that AIDS was not a problem that they needed to concern themselves with. In a recent survey however, it was shown that the number of people tested HIV positive is on the increase.

The answer of course to stopping the spread of this virus is to practise safe sex, or in fact, to abstain from physical sexual contact altogether. The Japanese man should not find this too difficult, as he already has a large palette of alternative sexual stimulus at his disposal, which does not involve actual sexual contact with another person at all.
