God's word demands purity among Christian singles.  So what does one do with their God- given drives, passions and sexual desires?  The Word says that with every temptation He will make a way of escape for us so that we will not succumb to the temptation.  But what if the desire is so great that we just 'want to'?

When you are committed to loving and serving God in your life, He is able to supernaturally, in ways that cannot be explained, meet your needs and to keep your drives, passions and desires in check so that they do not overtake you.  He keeps your drives, passions and desires not only in check, but He will fill your heart and mind with peace and calm.  He will supernaturally give you a sense of satisfaction so that you do not even feel the 'need' or desire to seek satisfaction outside of marriage, until such time that He provides a mate for you.   

When your desire is to please God, and to have your union blessed by Him, we must do things His way.  Whatever He calls us to do, He will give us the grace and power to also do it.  He will not leave you to fend for yourself.  You will not have to fight the battle in your own strength.  He will fight the battle for you.  And after the temptation has passed, you will still be standing strong in the Lord, unscathed.  "The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.  The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore."  Psalm 121:7,8 

He is able to take care of His own.  He will not let you down.  Trust Him to do all that He says He can do.  Ephesians 3:20 "To Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.  Think about that for a moment.  His power works in us.  How much power does He have?  He created the earth and everything in it.  That is a lot more power than I have, for sure.  And, He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could even think of.  How much is exceedingly abundantly?  According to Encarta it is 'to an unusually high degree and in large quantities.' 

The next time you are faced with desires too hard for you to control, seek Him and see if He does for you what He says that He will. He is all-powerful and is exceedingly abundantly able.
