Shaun T Insanity Workout Review - Week 2
80THE Insanity Workout
So to recap a little from week one, the first day of the Insanity Workout I threw up, each workout was new to me and challenging, and my body was sore for almost the whole week. Seriously, I cannot remember the last time my body was so tired, it felt like I got hit by a truck, although I have never been hit by a truck. I got through the first week, but struggled to push through some of the Insanity workouts.
Now comes the second week, on Monday I decided to go weigh myself to see if I have lost any weight, my body felt great because my soreness was all gone. But it felt like pants were fitting me better. I stepped on the scale and it said that I lost 4 pounds, I was super stoked! I really needed to see some type of results, results motivate me, the more results I see the more excited I get about my Insanity workouts.
The workouts for the second week are the same as the workouts for the first week, so there wasn't much difference, except that the workouts were on different day. The schedule for the second week looks something like this.
Monday - Cardio Power and Resistance
Tuesday - Pure Cardio (no breaks)
Wednesday - Cardio Circuit (same as the Plyometric cardio circuit)
Thursday - Cardio Recovery
Friday - Cardio Power and Resistance
Saturday - Pure cardio and cardio abs
Sunday - OFF
Although it was the second week of my Insanity workout and my body was feeling better, it did not mean that the workouts got easier, by any means. I did get more familiar with the workouts and the exercises, but they still kicked my butt. I really do not think that the workouts will get easier, because as you get in better shape, the more reps you end up doing and you get faster in your foot work. The only limitations for your body in these Insanity workouts is when your body hits the floor from being exhausted. No matter what type of shape you are in you can and should be exhausted by the end of these workouts.
There was a little twist at the end of the week with the workouts, instead of doing just one workout on Saturday, you do Pure cardio and Cardio Abs. Now, each time you do Pure cardio you will also do Cardio abs. I struggled with Cardio Abs, but it is mostly because I have a really bad tailbone. I injured my tailbone a long time ago playing football, and now I have a hard time doing any core workouts that require me to lean back on my butt. I try putting pillows down, but it doesn't work. But even though I struggled to get through that first part of the ab workout, the second part was done in plank positions (push up position). I was able to to do that with out any pain, except for my abs burning. I will definitely have to do more ab workouts on my exercise ball, to help me make up for the ab routines that I am missing out on. It really is a great ab/core routine.
I also weighed myself again, just for the heck of it, and the scale said that I lost 2 more pounds, so altogether in the first week and a half I lost 6 pounds. Pretty darn good!
Insanity Workout Nutrition
I start off the week really good with my Insanity Nutrition Plan, until Friday. One of my best friends had a birthday party at PF Changs. I tried ordering some fried brown rice, but it ended up being white rice, which is okay. Then Saturday I went to a Seattle Mariners game and a Cheeseburger with some fries, so the weekend did not end strong for me. The problem is...I have noticed that ever since I have started these workouts, when I get hungry...I get really hungry. If I do not have anything prepared for myelf to eat, I give into what is around me.
For the most part I have done pretty good on my diet, I have had some chocolate and candy, but not much. I usually start off with a bowl of Kashi Cereal, with flax seed. Then either have shakeology or a sandwich with whole wheat bread. I like having veggie burgers, or turkey burgers. For dinner I like to have steak, but I want to try some whole wheat pasta. I think I need to switch up what I eat a little bit because I am starting to get tired of eating the same thing over and over gain. I always try to have shakeology though, it is amazing, the taste isn't the greatest but it is not bad.

Great Job with Insanity. Keeping up with the diet is the hardest part for me.
