When I was first presented with a network marketing opportunity, it seemed like such a great way to earn a sizable income that I grabbed it with both hands. Enthusiastically, I began my training into the network marketing industry and my upline taught me a great deal about the methodologies that had worked to help him create a fortune. However, in spite of following my upline 100% and doing everything that I was told, I still did not see any real success. Sounds familiar?

Yes, I did it all! I learned everything there was to know about my company profile and their products, could show a great plan, made my list of 200+ people, had home meetings for my prospects, and even did a lot of cold calling! But like I mentioned previously, all my efforts did not get me the results that I wanted. No, I’m not saying that I didn’t make any money at all, but certainly nothing that could be considered sizeable.

Not being one to give up (thankfully!), I turned towards the internet to learn how to build the best mlm business. And what I found out literally shocked me! I realized that my upline was still teaching me all the Old School methodologies of building a successful network marketing business namely creating my list, home meetings, cold calling, using the 3 foot rule etc. While these concepts have worked to make many network marketers millionaires, the concepts are decades old and unfortunately have not evolved with the changing times.

It’s not that the old school network marketing model doesn’t work at all. It’s just that it takes a lot of hard work, time, and the patience of a saint to be able to work the concepts to see any degree of success. Granted, fortunes have been built in this manner, but it does take a rare individual to succeed using old school mlm concepts. One thing is certain - you will face innumerable rejections from prospects and will have to learn to bear them and not let rejections leave you feeling utterly frustrated. But let’s face it – since majority of network marketers just cannot do that, thus the soaring attrition rate in mlm business.

This is where the new age concept of Internetwork Marketing comes in. While browsing the internet looking for ways to generate free leads for my home based mlm business and also for ways to build a huge downline, I came across many network marketing books and systems that completely blew my mind. In fact, what I read resulted in a complete change of mindset!

Network marketing systems such as the Renegade Network Marketer opened my eyes to a whole new universe of marketing my home based mlm business using the internet. I now knew what Attraction Marketing was and how I could attract prospects to me using these systems. Yes, I actually came to realize that there were marketing methods that I could use to make prospects come to me instead of me chasing after them! That was definitely a first, and a very pleasant one at that. Not just that, but I could also use the technique of Monetization to make my prospects pay ME to talk to them about my network marketing opportunity. Talk about a complete reversal!

These concepts are what are today known as the New School approach to network marketing. With the huge popularity of the internet and the increasing competition from newer network marketers, it is vital that you learn about online network marketing. In fact, those network marketers who do not use the immense power of the internet to build their mlm business and do not make the shift from old school methodologies to new school concepts, will sadly have only themselves to blame for not making their network marketing business a success.
