We’re growing thanks to all our great authors. We started with nothing, except an idea, half a year ago and today we have an article directory populated with over 12,000 articles written by over 2300 authors. And we continue to grow by at least 300 new articles per day. At this rate, a year from now 411article.com should have over 100,000 articles in its directory and over 10,000 authors.
We still have big plans for 411article.com. We are preparing for a whole new look and feel to the site by making it an interactive community of writers, similar to hubpages.com, where we will provide a platform for writers of all genres to share their experiences and help one another with critiques. We also plan to have a shared revenue plan in place as soon as our traffic meets the requirements of Google.
In the meantime, 411article.com is set to host a series of short story writing contests. We’re kicking it off with our Winter Short Story Contest. Writers can submit entries to our contest from any genre, however they must be a minimum of 1000 words in length and no more than 3000 words. Plus, all entries for this contest must have a WINTER SETTING.
We are offering prizes too. The top prizes are cash awards of $500, $250, and $150 plus publication in the contest anthology. 22 additional finalists will also have their stories published in the contest anthology. All authors will retain full rights to their entries. Find out how to enter by going to our contest page at http://411article.com/contest.php
About the Anthology
Our anthology will be published using lulu.com and it will be attributed an official ISBN and be available to major retailers and also on Amazon.com as well as other outlets. Our top 3 cash award winners and 22 finalists will receive one copy of the anthology and given instructions on how to obtain additional copies. These will make great gifts and keepsakes for friends and family members.
We want this anthology to be special for our winners so at the end of the contest we will ask our winners to submit a short author bio to be included with their winning entry. Do not send a bio in with your entry, only the winners will be asked for a bio at the end of the contest.
Also I would like to ask our hubpages.com friends to help
make this anthology special by suggesting a title for our Winter Short Story
Anthology. The hubber with the winning
title selection will be given credit and a copy of the anthology. Submit your title suggestions in the comments section below.
The title suggestion is only open to hubpages.com members. If you’re not a member you can join here.
The short story contest is open to everyone, everywhere! Click on the link under the main image above to our official contest submission guide.

It's 411article.com Army Infantry Mom. I hope you check it out and like what you see. The contest just started on the 15th of September and the entries are starting to trickle in. I agree, competition is great but an added benefit to this contest is that every entry will get a critique of the short story. Thanks for visiting and good luck.
Never heard of this but going to check it out. You are very creative!
Thank you Ladybird and thanks for visiting.
hello there...I am thrilled about this competition, but was just wondering if hubs published here can be used as part of a story we can enter. I mean, are the hubs here technically 'published' work...and do they qualify? thanks and hope u can elaborate.
Thanks for visiting Myownworld and good question. So long as the short story entered has a WINTER SETTING and is the original work of the author, it is acceptable for entry into the contest. The stories will be checked for duplicate content just to make sure they are the work of the author submiting them. The top winning stories will be published in the contest's anthology and not online so we will not be creating duplicate content. You may also submit an entry and then publish it here on Hubpages if you desire. The author retains all rights to their work.
You can go to the 411article.com site, click on the contest image and it will take you to the official guidlines but feel free to contact me with any further questions.
thank you for clarifying...just went over the rules...but might contact you again closer to date regarding further details (payment etc)...now getting started on the story..hope to send it in by next month. thanks once again!
Sounds great myownworld, you know where to find me if you have more questions.
