Should Homosexuals be Given Rights???

How do we see homosexuality? Do we don not care about them? Do we ever think about their rights???Do we consider them a part of this society? Or we hate them so much that we can never think of giving them protection.
WHAT IS HOMOSEXUALITY?
Homosexuality refers to have an attraction towards people of the same sex. t is to have affectionate feelings, desires and wishes for the people of same sex the criteria on the basis of which we estimate the ratio of homosexuals is the number of people that have same-sex sexual experience. In the modern West, major studies indicate a prevalence of 2% to 13% of the population. A 2006 study suggested that 20% of the population anonymously reported some homosexual feelings, although relatively few participants in the study identified themselves as homosexual.
What are Gay Marriages?
Gay marriage term refers to a legal or an illegal marriage between people having same sex. Other terms used to describe this type of recognition include gender-neutral marriage, or equal marriage.
Many nations disgust this kind of marriage and homosexuals are not given any political, religious or civil rights but some countries like USA, ISRAEL have accepted homosexuals and there gay marriages are allowed.
Religious Opinion
In Islam homosexuality is strictly prohibited. For that reason the ratio of homosexuals in Muslim countries is very fewer as compare to western countries. In Muslim countries homosexuals can never walk freely and can never openly disclose their status because of the religious pressure. And because of the fear of being boycotted from the society. In such countries where there is a religious opposition to homosexuality, gays and lesbians should not be given their rights. Certainly because it is a sin to support anything against the religion. .
Violence Against Homosexuals
In the last three years attacks on homosexuals have been increased largely, as homosexuals have become more prominent and have arise their problems and have asked for their special rights. Law-enforcement agencies do not record crimes against homosexuals as a specific category. In several cities, however, homosexuals have formed organizations to tell people about the violence they have been subjected to. The New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, after a series of gang attacks on homosexuals in Manhattan's Chelsea section, testified that the project had counted 351 incidents, from murders to verbal attacks, aimed at homosexuals. So far this year the group has counted 17 murders where the victim appeared to have been selected because he was a homosexual. According to another survey it has been reported that homosexuals have been physically attacked more then bisexuals. The surveys also illustrates that homosexuals are more often the victims of violent crimes than the general public. Some of these victims said they were perceived to be homosexuals because they were walking arm in arm with a partner or leaving a bar frequented by homosexuals, but others could not explain why they were selected. The survey also found that some heterosexuals, including a married couple walking together in Queens, had been attacked by assailants shouting epithets about homosexuality.
Should Homosexuals be given their Rights??
In the ancient civilizations like Native Americans, homosexuals were given a high prestige because that civilization disgusted having a large population. For them having more and more homosexuals were beneficial as they would produce no children. But in other civilizations they were disgusted or many reasons. Some for religious, some for civil or for social reasons. But in the current society we have two different and opposite opinions. Some liberal groups say that gays and lesbians are a part of society and they should be given their rights. They should have the protection and they should not be subjected to violence but other conservative groups say that gays and lesbians should not be given their rights. The people from conservative groups classify the rights as "special" and "equal”. According to them equal rights is based and are given on the things that can not be changed such as race, colour, gender etc. But special rights are those rights which are given on a person's behavior. According to them being homosexual is a behavior that can be changed with the course of time. It is not a thing that can not be changed or a thing which is natural. It is a behavior that is liked and adopted and can be quite after a certain age.
Conclusion:
Both groups have their own opinions but whatever the opinion is homosexuality is not allowed in any religion and we should not promote it by giving their rights and by letting them openly live their life. After all we live in a society with our children and this issue should be kept away from them. Just for that reason strict measures should be taken against them as Cal Thomas wrote:
"the facts (as opposed to the politics) are that people who want to change can change [their orientation], because it is behavior at issue--not race, gender or physical disabilities".

Great Hub! It is a behavior not a gender. I have long felt that it is a sign of sex addiction. I believe that men in particular want to be sexual and some are men so preoccupied with sex they lose touch with morality. They find a peer group that supports their position and they're off! I can't speak for women because all I know is my wife's position and she says they are gross. I believe they are people who need help but first they must accept it. Peace.

It is a unfortunate attitude since psychologists reveal that a lot of people have homosexual tendencies and is a natural instinct to explore it. Many people have also acted upon it. Denial brings out very ugly behaviors in people and goes to show where they are at . Great hub! :)
