Should Hubs be about what You want to write OR what generates most traffic ???
66
SO this, my sixty first hub I will answer the question about whether hubs should be written for love or money. Well After sixty hubs my thinking is the hubs should be writing about things that inspire you and you love. If you truly write about something you care about then it will reflect in your hub and people will want to read them.
Some of my hubs can be taken as a an example. Of course like any other hubber I experimented with types of hubs. One of my most stinkiest hubs was the top ten behinds of 2008. It was sort of a joke on my boyfriend, whose behind I included. :) Unfortunately it has probably not had a hit in the past three months. I got the idea after seeing some of those hindi girl hubsites, wondering if they generated any traffic.
Then there are the hubs that I created to center around an event or holiday. Those of course are only good one time a year. (except the Friday the Thirteenth hub http://hubpages.com/hub/Friday-the-Thirteenth-and-other-Superstitions that is good for three times this year) These hubs are also on the bottom of the pile and won't have any hits until next year...
Sometimes I create hubs form review the Google trends. Which by that time is too late and I have missed the event.
My best hubs are the ones I truly am interested in and have some passion about. Right now my hub on the Octuplets http://hubpages.com/hub/Octuplets-plus-six--a--Controversy-in-the-making is my highest rated due to so much content and hits.
Other best hubs come out of creating things I would like to find on the Internet Like http://hubpages.com/hub/Dinners-on-the-House-and-other-free-things or http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Best-Things-to-do-on-the-Web
If I am fresh out of ideas then I go to the request page. Suprprisling they do well. http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Deal-With-A-Midlife-Crisis--A-Womens-Perspective and http://hubpages.com/hub/West-Virginia--Hillbillies--Barbie-Dolls-and-More are examples of hubs that get a decent rating.
All in all I have given up on the Adsense thing..If I make five cents a day then so be it. I will write I things that I know about or inspire me. I am going to concentrate on the overall hubscore and see where that takes me. The fans readers and the mysterious hubscore keepers will let me know how I am doing.

I am the one who wants to write what I want to but also want to make money out of it hence I need traffic so what about writing Hubs that is what you want to write and at the same time generates traffic too?
Good points and hub! I find a healthy mix of writing what I want, and finding ways to make it good adsense wise works out in the end. Only a handful of hubs didn't fit this criteria and I didn't let that stop me from writing them because I felt they were important.
I write what I want to write and the hell with the rest! If what I am interested in also interests enough other folk to get them to take a look and read then great. If not, then so be it, I don't worry too much about that!
The Hubscore is something else! I don't even begin to understand it. There are people with three or four hubs with scores higher than mine, and how that happens I can't imagine, and their hadsful of Hubs don't seem particularly spectacular to me, but then I guess they might be to others?
Anyway thanks for an interesting Hub.
Love and peace
Tony
Great hub and thanks for answering the request. :)
Do you think that Obama will visit Octumom while he is out here in Southern California today and tomorrow?
I don't know.. He still has a high popularity rating with everyone but AIG employees right now...
i want more traffic but i just write what i know.
You've certainly been busy since this hub, another 100 under your belt.
I think hubs should be about things that interest you. There are so many stupid "how to make money" stories on the internet and most are just scam articles to get traffic and offer no sound advice.
I see this as an opportunity to impart our own personal pearls of wisdom on the poor public and hopefully spark someones interest. Tribal elders of the internet teaching our clan the lessons we have learnt.

Adsense is truly an example of talk is cheap.
I don't bother with it
I would rather write for free and imagine that my work was priceless, rather than have it pay a nickel.
