Pendants That Strike An Exceptional Chord

A pendant is used as the centerpiece or focal point of a necklace. It is the main course, meat and potatoes of the creative illusion. I would think the two most common symbols used as pendants over the course of history are crosses and hearts. These symbols hold fast to our mental, spiritual and physical world as a way of celebrating our ideals. They send out a message for all to see and acknowledge in silence. They highlight and enlarge our very being simply by being presented as adornments. To me this is a fasinating idea because we are able to utilize our jewelry to make statements about our very personal self without speaking directly to anyone. That is a pretty cool way to get one's point across and never have to get into any kind of confrontation. Just wear your statement on your heart. Wow, that is powerful.

Perndants From A Designers Point Of View

The jewelry designer creating a necklace wants the pendant to catch your gaze and hold it, captivated. Great pendants have the ability to grab you by the ears and pull your face up close and make your mouth fall right open. Yes, some pendants are just strikingly unbelievable in charm, beauty, and style. I find many pendants attractive, fun, cute, and whimsical but, then there are pendants that are just plain magical, mystical and musical. Today I am writing about pendants that strike that exceptional chord. These pendants are very special works of art in and of themselves. They go far beyond functional, jewelry making components and fill the designs they encompass with power and energy.

Crossing Hearts For Self Expression

Pendants most often are suspended, to hang from a chain or cord and rest right above the chest. This practical place to show a prized adornment holds a certain underlying message. The chest, being the housing and outer armour for the human heart, lends itself naturally, as the perfect place to show and tell. Wearing jewelry we are sentimentally attached to, up close to our heart, is a way of making a statement to ourselves and to others. What better way to express our sentimentality's than to offer up the most vulnerable organ in our body as a resting place for that which we care about most? It is a practical and purposeful way to express very strong feelings without uttering a word.

Replicating Famous Artists

There is a company, Artbeads.com, who offer an array of jewelry making components. They are offering pendants that replicate paintings from some of the greatest artists of all time. One of my favorite artists is Pablo Picasso. Artbeads.com has a line of pendants that includes a replica of The Dream by Picasso. This pendant is absolutely stunning. When I think of taking a popular painting and trying to recreate it into a fashion pendant the idea sounds absurd. How can you take a large painting and put it on a very tiny element such as a pendant and do the work justice? Look at my photo because you have to see it to believe it. It is remarkable in quality and beauty.

Shop Artbeads.com

It can be done and this limited edition item is astounding proof. They also offer many other pendants. I included a link below for your shopping convenience. Just click on the jewelry supplies link at the end of this paragraph to browse their online facility. Artbeads.com is the place to go for everything you will need to handcraft a fashionable, high quality necklace. You will find a wide assortment of components and findings to suit your every need at Artbeads.com.
