Often referred to as sunglasses, Shutter Shades are the newest craze! Recently seen on such luminaries as Kanye West, Ashlee Simpson, and Paris Hilton--it seems that now everyone is sporting these retro shades from an earlier era.

Shutters were first designed in the 80's by Alain Mikli--I sincerely hope he made some serious cash off of his creation because they have been popular ever since. Most of the shutter shades on the market do not have a lens. When Mr. Mikli first invented these, they were nicknamed Venitian Blinders and were seen in music videos by Simple minds and of course, one of my favorite songs ever, "Obsession" by Animotion. Kanye is credited for re-energizing their popularity by featuring some shutter shades in his music video hit "Stronger".

 Recent outings by many famous stars.  It seems that nearly everyone is wearing shutter shades nowdays.  The real question is, Have you got your Shutter on yet?
