Sidewalk Chalk art - Part2
69Sidewalk chalk art - techniques
sidewalk chalk art photography is a tricky business. One have to position the camera to be from the exact position for it to look good like this does. It must understood that for the perspective illusion to work, the drawing in real life is much more stretched out that you would think it is. In this example, it looks like the woman in the center with the stroller should techincally only be a few feet farther back from the the edge of the basin wall than say, the police officer. But due to using a wide-angle or fisheye lense, the perspective on the people is also slightly distorted to enhance the effect.
This is one of thoese pictures that you can stare at for quite awhile, and it sure seems like many of those people could just take a step forward and dip their feet into the water. Quite an impressive chalk display!
Next picture is a bottle of Green Label Alchohol is painted on the sidewalk in this picture. When shown from the correct angle it looks like the bottle is sticking up right off the sidewalk, when we actually see that it is flat as a pancake. Keep scrolling down an see more amazing sidewalk chalk arts.
The last one is a pretty new optical illusion,As you first look at this carefuly crafted piece of art, it will just appear that the artist is spraying his hose and the water is splashing on the sidewalk, and going down a drain.
That's right, that drain right there, isn't real. The hose, the water, EVERYTHING is fake (except for the artist). If you're familiar with this artist, his name is Julian Beever and he is one of the most prominent sidewalk chalk artists.
