According to experts, 90% of communication is nonverbal. We send nonverbal messages through body language and flirting to attract people of the opposite sex – or even to communicate that we’re not interested.

Some of the most common signs of flirting are:

Body posture - One automatically becomes more rigid, use more of muscles in posture when trying to make a good impression.

Raised eyebrows - When a potential mate appears, people normally raise their eyebrows slightly. This sign of flirting can be a subconscious sign of interest on the flirter’s part.

Eye contact - While you are conversing, make sure you have eye contact at least some of the time so there's a brief, more intimate moment between you. If you’re across the room from one another, regular brief instances of eye contact may be strong signs of flirting.

Hair flick - Women will flick their hair – you see this in movies all the time. Even women with really short hair can flick their hair.

Playing with accessories - While women usually sends out signal by playing with earrings, twirling hair, and fiddling with necklaces, men may offer similar signs of flirting by playing with their neckties or jingling the change in their pocket.

Leaning in - If he leans close to you, he’s giving you a nonverbal message that he wants to be closer (this may seem to be an obvious sign of flirting, but it’s often misread).

Open body language - This is a significant sign of flirting for both men and women. The opposite of open body language (closed body language, which is easier to describe) is turning away, crossing arms or legs, or pulling back.

Waving - A little wave to someone who caught you looking, along with a smile, is a non-intrusive, very flirty way to say "hello."

Winking - Winking at someone from across the room or during a conversation is a way of sharing a little moment for just the two of you, as if the two of you are in on some private joke no one else is aware of.

Look away, look back - Girls tend to do this more but if a guy does it’s a very big sign of flirting.
